Rollar coaster and Party O'Clock were mixpop. It's just fans who pretend they know something said there was no mixing in the songs. The fact is both songs were a mix of hip hop and r&b and pop. Western pop music and KPOP has been blending these genres for over a decade and fans are used to the sound so it didn't SOUND like MIXPOP. But honestly they don't know about kpop at all if they think NMIXX is doing anything new. They are not they just put a name on it "Mixpop" but KPOP has always been mixing genres. Trap, EDM, HipHop, R&B, House, Latin and sometimes even country. LONG LONG before NMIXX existed. So toxic fans find shit to complain about. For the last two songs they just mixed two already similar genres with a 3rd and it sounded "Normal" but it was still mixpop. But the average kpop song has 2 to 3 genres mixed in all the time. EDM and House are often mixed with trap beats. Sometimes latin is mixed with moombahton etc, etc etc. So don't listen to fans who complain about a group's releases. They are just toxic. They aren't happy unless they complain.
Well at least for me, the mixpop was more the switchup aspect, but when you put it that way I understand what you mean. Party O Clock did have a bit of a switch up tho.
For me, as long as the song is good, I'm fine with anything
