    I read your sleep study report and it is misleading. You do have SRD and while an AHI score of 4.2 isn’t severe, it’s still significant enough that it warrants attention and is a significant impact on your sleep. Any apnea episodes are significant because your body is literally dying from lack of oxygen. You should also look into Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT)/ Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD). - PSA from your friendly dentist follower

      @austinwhisler5938 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have sleep apnoea and an AHI of 4.2 per night would be a great night for me! On CPAP too 😂
      Respiratory physicians are stating that an AHI of 5.5 or 6 is totally normal. On CPAP I've never had a night with zero hypo-apnoea.
      It's a bit much to say his cells are dying from lack of oxygen when he had 31 hypo-apnoeas and 2 obstructive apnoeas over 8 hours. I'm sure Mars can hold his breath for 10 seconds while he's awake and not drop his oxygen saturation so he's probably doing ok there whilst asleep as he's young and healthy. Yes the monitor registers an event as no breath for 10 seconds and we don't know if each event was longer than that but hopefully he's not experiencing a lot of cell death at 330 or so seconds of pauses in breathing spread over over the course of 8 hours.
      The fact he's had a deviated septum for years and has felt benefits from mouth taping for a short time definitely would indicate he could see further improvements by seeing a dental specialist for some of the things you mentioned for sure!

    Been mouth taping for 5 years as a former mouth breather - makes such a different and I cannot sleep without tape or eye mask! Highly recommend when you first start, to use micropore tape and tape vertical until you get used to taping horizontal!!

    I’ve been taping my mouth shut since I read ‘Breath’ back in 2020. It has been life changing for me, as I was a mouth breather. I use a scotch masking tape as I’m too cheap to buy the patches. 😂

    I also started taping my mouth after reading "Breath" by James Nestor. I have always been a terrible sleeper and it did help. The next thing that helped was the eye mask. Getting into a good bed time routine was also beneficial. Loved the "Breath" book, it changed my whole understanding of breathing. Thanks for the content, always love it.

    Did you have EEG recorded at the same time as your sleep study? Even if you only have primary snoring, taking your daytime symptoms into account your snoring could be disrupting your sleep enough to cause your excessive daytime sleepiness, you may not be getting enough slow wave sleep or it may be fragmented to the point it is not restorative. In these cases it’s often useful to do a trial of CPAP to see if the daytimes symptoms improve. I have no connections to companies I just work in a paediatric sleep lab in the UK.

    Has helped me a ton! Started doing it after watching James Nestor on JRE. I was a bad sleep mouth breather and this has given me a huge boost in quality but I had a lot to gain. I use traditional sports tape and always lick my lips before pulling the tape off- using my tongue to loosen the tape before pulling.

    Just got married a month ago. Realized we are both snorers. I'm not cool with that so I did some research and discovered Hostage tape. My mouth tape has been on back order for a while. I did receive the nose strips from them though. I don't know that they've helped me not snore, but I do feel like I can breath slightly better. Also, found the breathing work you guys did at the gym super interesting. Who knew you could breath incorrectly?? Not i!

    How does this information correlate with a product like Airwaav? That seems to encourage mouth breathing? They introduced a new recovery mouthpiece now too.

    • @ButteryBros1
      @ButteryBros1  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We haven’t looked into Airwav much. But I’m sure there is studies of its benefits too. Mid metcon some deep mouth breaths are necessary. Both are tools we are looking to get to know how to use better and both have benefits.
      But when sleeping, breath throw your nose as much as possible.

    That workout looks extremely difficult, especially with the tape. I think Marston was having difficulty because he was essentially hyperventilating and not being able to exhale out the excess CO2 that builds up. Loved the video! Can't wait to try some of these thing to help with my sleep!
