I read your sleep study report and it is misleading. You do have SRD and while an AHI score of 4.2 isn’t severe, it’s still significant enough that it warrants attention and is a significant impact on your sleep. Any apnea episodes are significant because your body is literally dying from lack of oxygen. You should also look into Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT)/ Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD). - PSA from your friendly dentist follower
Link to a MAD you recommend?
I have sleep apnoea and an AHI of 4.2 per night would be a great night for me! On CPAP too 😂
Respiratory physicians are stating that an AHI of 5.5 or 6 is totally normal. On CPAP I've never had a night with zero hypo-apnoea.
It's a bit much to say his cells are dying from lack of oxygen when he had 31 hypo-apnoeas and 2 obstructive apnoeas over 8 hours. I'm sure Mars can hold his breath for 10 seconds while he's awake and not drop his oxygen saturation so he's probably doing ok there whilst asleep as he's young and healthy. Yes the monitor registers an event as no breath for 10 seconds and we don't know if each event was longer than that but hopefully he's not experiencing a lot of cell death at 330 or so seconds of pauses in breathing spread over over the course of 8 hours.
The fact he's had a deviated septum for years and has felt benefits from mouth taping for a short time definitely would indicate he could see further improvements by seeing a dental specialist for some of the things you mentioned for sure!
Show us more Jules: more beter😅
Been mouth taping for 5 years as a former mouth breather - makes such a different and I cannot sleep without tape or eye mask! Highly recommend when you first start, to use micropore tape and tape vertical until you get used to taping horizontal!!
I’ve been taping my mouth shut since I read ‘Breath’ back in 2020. It has been life changing for me, as I was a mouth breather. I use a scotch masking tape as I’m too cheap to buy the patches. 😂
Who’s hitting Mouth Taped Acid Bath?
Only in Mat Fraser’s garage.
If I started right now, I might finish by Christmas
Now that would be a bad idea! But I do breath more through the nose during workouts since mouth taping.
I also started taping my mouth after reading "Breath" by James Nestor. I have always been a terrible sleeper and it did help. The next thing that helped was the eye mask. Getting into a good bed time routine was also beneficial. Loved the "Breath" book, it changed my whole understanding of breathing. Thanks for the content, always love it.
I have been doing it for 2 weeks. Heavy mouth breather at night. Have noticed a sizeable change in energy when I wake up.
Did you have EEG recorded at the same time as your sleep study? Even if you only have primary snoring, taking your daytime symptoms into account your snoring could be disrupting your sleep enough to cause your excessive daytime sleepiness, you may not be getting enough slow wave sleep or it may be fragmented to the point it is not restorative. In these cases it’s often useful to do a trial of CPAP to see if the daytimes symptoms improve. I have no connections to companies I just work in a paediatric sleep lab in the UK.
I was claustrophobic watching Mars on the last bike. haha but very interesting video guys. Love the content. Keep it up!
When y'all come to Knoxville for Semis let's take this a step further!! Breath holds and CF specific breath training! 😳
Love mouth taping for sleep! I had vivid dreams the first three nights or so of taping. I’m a back sleeper so taping prevents me from mouth breathing. No more dry mouth and sore throat.
I’ve been mouth taping every night for a couple of years now and the benefits are huge! Big fan of it. Friends think I’m mad so it’s great to see it being discussed more on channels like yours 💤
Tried this out, changed my life, cheers Bros!
I just use a mouth guard when i sleep.
The founder’s lips look like they are fusing into his teeth. He’s definitely practicing what he’s preaching.
I tape my mouth shut every night since my wife complained about my morning breath. 😉
You guys are awesome! So cool to see you guys putting on these fitness "trends" to the test! Much respect!
I'd like to try this but I'm allergic to a lot of tap adhesive so the con would be the rashes from the tape....
Watching Mars pull the tape off brought back memories of having to workout with a mask on. I had a panic attack from struggling to breath during one particular workout...ugh don't ever want to re-live that era ever again.
My boyfriend has to try it. He snores so loud ! I will try it too for support 😉
Has helped me a ton! Started doing it after watching James Nestor on JRE. I was a bad sleep mouth breather and this has given me a huge boost in quality but I had a lot to gain. I use traditional sports tape and always lick my lips before pulling the tape off- using my tongue to loosen the tape before pulling.
What happens when you have a cold and congestion… dead😂
Heebs with the toe nail polish. Alright!
Hold up, are we all overlooking the fact that Marston has a girlfriend?! Well done my guy 👊
I've been doing this for almost a year. HUGE BENEFITS. I'm sleeping through the night again and not snoring anymore!
Heck ya!!!
I left this video unwatched for a bit as it didn’t appeal as much as you usual high-energy episodes… BUT… I loved it. Let’s see more of these investigative “real-world” trials, guys.
It’d be interesting to see the difference between this 30 days and another trial where you’re not traveling. Sleeping in a consistent place like your own bed vs. being on the road traveling could improve that % sleep change even more
Yes. Huge huge improvement.
Wow..well done. I enjoyed this so much. ❤❤ I like after all the time together Marz still makes Heber laugh😂
For some reason I got anxious seeing Mars struggling to breath during the bike. I can’timagine actually doing that!
I read "Breath" in January and have been taping my mouth shut nightly since then. Not sure if I sleep heaps better, but I haven't had a cold since then, and don't have a sore dry mouth in the morning. Also don't snore anywhere near as much, so good for the rest of the family!
why greenscreen in ziz ?
Game changer
James nestors book is such an eye opener.
I don’t think I personally suffer that bad with snoring but anything is worth a go for a short time.
I might give this a go
Thank-you! I have been trying to convince my husband to try taping for his snoring with no success. I sent him this vid and he ordered the tape!
Didnt mars ex wife brooke have the same issue with the nose?
So im in the same boat as Mars, did the septal deviation and turbinate reduction surgery. Still snore....so, gonna give this a shot! Will check back in 1 mo.
Let us know how you like the mouth tape.
Any update?
Tried tape and a bite guard....seems my body has been so used to mouth breathing at night that it's still fighting to breath through my mouth. Will probably take longer than I thought to adjust...but I'm hopeful!
Wait!! So did Mars stop falling asleep in random places after taping his mouth ? 😅
Right? That was the number one question that had to be answered....
His sleep improved. But if he get caught napping we still put him on blast. Random nap attacks decreased by 10%
Mars looked like he was freaking out! Damn I will have to try this.
What hebs ment to say was “take it our breath it”😂😂😂
Of course after you mentioned the tooth thing, then I noticed! jaja love this!
Shhhhh don’t let her know 😂
oh man @@ButteryBros1
Dream Recovery Mouth Tape!
It’s the best
@@ButteryBros1too expensive over time. Nexcare strong hold is great and cheap.
Just got married a month ago. Realized we are both snorers. I'm not cool with that so I did some research and discovered Hostage tape. My mouth tape has been on back order for a while. I did receive the nose strips from them though. I don't know that they've helped me not snore, but I do feel like I can breath slightly better. Also, found the breathing work you guys did at the gym super interesting. Who knew you could breath incorrectly?? Not i!
Try the Dream Recovery Tape. They should be in stock and a little silkier tape
How does this information correlate with a product like Airwaav? That seems to encourage mouth breathing? They introduced a new recovery mouthpiece now too.
We haven’t looked into Airwav much. But I’m sure there is studies of its benefits too. Mid metcon some deep mouth breaths are necessary. Both are tools we are looking to get to know how to use better and both have benefits.
But when sleeping, breath throw your nose as much as possible.
Great insight. I always nasal breathe when i sleep, my husband is a mouth breather. He snores, gets a sticky dry mouth and disrupted sleep. I'll get him to watch those for sure.
Thanks for spreading the butter
That workout looks extremely difficult, especially with the tape. I think Marston was having difficulty because he was essentially hyperventilating and not being able to exhale out the excess CO2 that builds up. Loved the video! Can't wait to try some of these thing to help with my sleep!
Ya we actually discussed that in our breakdown but didn’t include it here in the cut. Good insight, give it a try!
I’ve been mouth taping for over three years. I had become somewhat of a mouth breather. Taping corrected this, and also improved gum and mouth health. No more dry mouth or any problems. I sleep well and have great dreams.
All about them DREAMS
Get Gary Brecka in the show boys
I was just saying yesterday i need to learn to breath better in my workouts. I am a mouth breather and have a hard time catching my breath. Plus, I have asthma. I might look into the tape. Very interesting.
Try just warming up only breathing through your nose. Like 10 min casual bike
Super interesting! More like this, please.
Hostage Tape is a really bad name for a product/company/brand.
I think that’s the idea. You remember it now.
Happy Thursday
Great episode of mouth taping, this is very interesting topics
Thanks for watching!
I’m just here for the butter.. 🧈
Great work Mars!
Use the nose breathing strips next time to help open the nose
Might have to do a follow up video?
I guess it would stop drooling at night lol
Very effective there
This was so interesting!! As someone who is dealing with reoccurring back injuries and disc herniations, I’m super curious to learn more about connections between that and abdominals and breathing.
Oh you should FOR SURE hit Jenni up.
Would love to help its all so interlinked breathing is the key to all healing and dysfunctional breathing patterns can be the root cause of so many injuries and symptoms.
@@jennimurphy2973how do we find more practitioners like you and training like they did with you?
The training I did is called low pressure fitness. They have a website where you can look up practitioners who are qualified all over the world at the moment it’s predominantly in Spanish, but there are trainers in most parts of the world this stage.
