The 1957 version was better acted and the tension was palpable. Henry Fonda was awesome but the actor who "stole the show " was Lee J. Cobb. His performance of Juror 3 was the most powerful and emotional wrenching I have ever seen.
It's just a little play on a female version, it doesn't need to have great acting or a budget or tension or to be that emotionally dramatic, while I do kinda understand were you are coming from I thinks it's cool that there's a woman version.
If they ever made a big budget film with A-list actresses (which I know will never happen), these are the women I would love to see: Juror 1: Helen Hunt Juror 2: Amy Adams Juror 3: Annette Bening Juror 4: Helen Mirren Juror 5: Jennifer Jason Leigh Juror 6: Catherine Keener Juror 7: Melissa McCarthy Juror 8: Emma Thompson Juror 9: Sissy Spacek Juror 10: Marcia Gay Harden Juror 11: Mélanie Laurent Juror 12: Joan Cusack
You couldn't make a modern version. With cell 📱 GPS locating your travel, modern forensic technology, surveillance cameras on the apartment complex, theater cinema, and pawn shop where he bought the knife would be able to prove the critical points. It was a great live play. It's really hard going a hour and half memorizing all your lines for a live audience. Of you screw up on flim you can always go back and redo your takes.
12 Angry women .... Katie Hopkins, Nancy Grace, Whoopie Goldberg, Grisly Maxwell, Meghan Windsor - Wales, Sarah Ferguson, Rose McGowan, Angela Merkel, Hillary Clinton, Nicola Sturgeon, my wife, and my ex wife. Not a bad collection.
Finally someone figured out to do 12 women. However, it wasn't until 1973 that all 50 states allowed women on juries. This story is set in the late 1950s. This supposedly took place 8n New York where women were allowed on the jury in 1937. Final word: it could have been done better. The characters all sounded the same. No true delineation of the characters distinct personalities.
The end wasn’t nearly as powerful as the originals. There was as best an implied connection between juror 3 and her own relationship with her kid as the motivation. Meh.
Nothing revolutionary here, but if the producers really wanted to be different they would have made the accused and the victim a girl who killed her mother.

Thank you I was looking for it. I was in this in 1960 in amateur theater . Im 85 now. I just watched Henry ry Fonda movie
This is another great affirmation of how important the message of 12 Angry Men still is today. 👏🏻

Great performance from Juror 3. Walks out with a tear in her eye and trying to keep her head up.

It's just a small low budget video that records a low budget play like any other play and nothing special.

Helen Mirren for the Henry Fonda roll and Meryl Streep for the Lee J Cobb roll!
@Cotswold Cuckoo Why not have Nancy Grace for Juror 3?

They were trying dressed like the 50's so l assumed they were implementing the 1957 take even though it was different in some ways.
I was thinking the same thing. If it's an all female cast, it probably should have been set in a more, modern time frame.
Yeah.... I'm gonna stick with the Henry Fonda version
me too
lol
@@skywilliam I prefer the 97 version.
@@skywilliam I thought the dialog in the remake was more "real", the original movie was great, but it was very "actory".
@@skywilliam I don't mind it being longer, gives the scenes more time to "breathe".

This is a hard one to turn into a stage play, but I enjoyed it. A worthy rendition of a courtroom drama classic.
It was literally a play...
Looks like a school board
The most unrealistic thing was no one got passive aggressively bullied for their dress choice.
So the only men in this are the defendant and his dead daddy? Plus, the old man who lived downstairs.
Good show. Bunch of old crones behaving badly. Interesting take on the standard male version.
Nothing revolutionary here, but if the producers really wanted to be different they would have made the accused and the victim a girl who killed her mother.
That's a good idea.
Or a boy who killed his mother.
That's not what the licenced script for twelve angry women says 🤷🏼♂️
That is what I thought. Make the Lee J. Cobb character who wants the convicts the Accused Killer- a woman who is estranged from her daugher.
