Our middle school brought us to see a local production, a lot of kids were being really rude and talking through the whole thing. But once we all realized that the Nazis were coming to take them away, the entire theatre was silent. Not a dry eye in the house by the end

I have been hyperfixating on the story of Anne Frank for years now, and while this play is so lovely with the right amount of tasteful humour, raw emotional punch and staging, I have some problems: 1) Annaewas given the diary on her 13th birthday and began writing in it straight away, not when they first came in to the Annex 2) Anne's full name is Annelies not Annika 3) you don't pronounce the T in Margot (the way they pronounce Edith is also strange) Other than that, everything is pretty accurate :)

You couldn't make a modern version. With cell 📱 GPS locating your travel, modern forensic technology, surveillance cameras on the apartment complex, theater cinema, and pawn shop where he bought the knife would be able to prove the critical points. It was a great live play. It's really hard going a hour and half memorizing all your lines for a live audience. Of you screw up on flim you can always go back and redo your takes.

The end wasn’t nearly as powerful as the originals. There was as best an implied connection between juror 3 and her own relationship with her kid as the motivation. Meh.

The most unrealistic thing was no one got passive aggressively bullied for their dress choice.

This is another great affirmation of how important the message of 12 Angry Men still is today. 👏🏻

The 1957 version was better acted and the tension was palpable. Henry Fonda was awesome but the actor who "stole the show " was Lee J. Cobb. His performance of Juror 3 was the most powerful and emotional wrenching I have ever seen.

I'm sorry but this is so bad. Did they even read the diary? Anne was very well aware of why they had to go into hiding (How could she not? The oppression of Jews was part of her daily life by this point) and knew her sister had gotten a letter to go to a concentration camp. Yet they make it seem like she had no clue they couldn't go outside? This immediately makes it lose all credibility for me.
