- Boris and EarthQuaker Devices, it's a match made in...well, someplace awesome! The Japanese music legends are celebrating their 30th Anniversary in 2022 and will soon unleash their new album, "W," on the world to fill the ears and nourish the souls of heavy-music hungry fans worldwide. But while we anxiously wait to absorb the trio's newest spiritually-infused sonic statement, Boris has kindly recorded an EQD Session to ensure fans stay satiated. This video missive features the classic, doom-laden tune "Heavy Friends" from Boris' 2002 album "Heavy Rocks." Bathe in Wata's searing fretwork, fueled by the Hizumitas, as Atsuo provides the heartbeat on drums and Takeshi fills the bottom end on his iconic double-neck bass and guitar. No fancy video tricks, no frills, and no B.S.
Just pure BorisHeavyRocks.

"Heavy Friends" should be the Official Anthem of the Universe! So proud that I've been a Boris fan for 25 years. It's that feeling of possessing a silent smirk of secret knowledge. Wata is the ultimate Guitar Goddess!

@@masterofpuppets222 Who would dare underrate her? She moves the Grand Tetons mountains with one note and a wall of Orange amps. She makes jello quake fifty miles away. Wata at 5 feet tall is 50 feet tall in high heal boots and a guitar in her hand. She splits the Pacific Ocean with a wall of sound and strolls aisles of guitarists putting each to shame and walks on to the next. ha! She is well worth elevating to status of one of the best living guitarists.

Thank you Boris for crushing it tonight in Grand Rapids Michigan! I loved that Gibson Wata played as well as the double neck guitar. Looked like a Rickenbacker but head stock was different. It sounded amazing.. My only complaint is that you ran out of 2xl shirts! So i bought a cd. Its magnificent! New biggest fan.

This doesn't sound too much like any Melvins I've heard. It's slow and heavy, but that's about it in terms of similarities.
