I know the more thick amongst we Kings fans continue to belittle my man Talbie like they did my man, Lewie. It's just that they don't like competators. They like guys who sound good on paper. They even want to get Drew out of town as well. The fact is that Talbot did struggle in the mid part of the season but so did the rest of the team. The goal scoring prowess they demonstrated at the beginning of the season dried up and there was a team wide malaise. Riitich played well but I don't believe he is a superior goalie. There are many happenings where a goalie plays over there head especially when they were in the minors. Look at Binnington or what about that Hammond guy in Ottowa many years back? There are many instances like this. Bring back Talbot if possible. I don't even know what Blake is going to do. I'm guessing they are going to run it back with the same team and hope PL wakes up and some young players step up. I'm glass halp empty.
Why the hell are we in this situation, could it be a terrible GM?
In my opinion I think LA should target Kappo Kakhonen or Philip Gustafson, Gustafson would require a trade and i don't know what it would cost, but either fits what the timeliness should be both are in their prime years, niether will break the bank, nor will either block Portillo's ascension just my opinion
As a kings fan I just wish we would go back to the purple crown jersey! None of us want the Gretzky logo and the white jerseys.

Last 3 years kings have had quick, petersen, Copley, Talbot, rittich and Koprisalo in net. I believe each playoff series they pulled the goalie and started a backup. If Talbot wasn't good enough this past playoff, why would he be good enough next year? Just wondering what kings expectations are at this point.
Playing 5 games in the playoffs for LA doesn't necessarily mean it would fail 11 months from now.
I do have issues with Talbots age, but if he is the best we can do for at least 1 more season than we'll just have to make do.
We'll see how the summer shakes out.
Gus bus, is going to be traded, as it's the only move they have, LA would have to give up a pick and a player

Gus has a 3,75 million a year, which would be doable for LA

I would like to see the kings go after one of Pittsburgh's goalies. Supposedly everyone is a trade candidate except Crosby. Jarry I think would make a great King.
Eventually it will be the big Viking Portillo. Wouldn’t surprise me if that was at some point during the 24 -25 season.
The system made Talbot look better than he was. Right now nothing looks good beyond Ulmark but would he agree to go West, and would LA as only LA could manage, end up with the Buffalo Ulmark instead of the BOS Ulmark.
There is a whole lot of meh on this roster going into 24-25 and me thinks this is a team that just misses the playoffs…stuck in the proverbial black hole when it comes to drafting.
Well I guess that question has been answered with another Blake move.
And this goalie only cost him villardi, Iafallo, dersi and kupari.

I for now am done giving one Nickle to this once again floundering franchise.
Will continue to follow your show and watch them from time to time.
But until they layout a logical plan.
I am done attending games and purchasing anything associated with the kings.
Our feathered friends down south seem to be on their way to becoming a playoff team in the not too distant future.
Couple that with much more reasonably priced tickets , an arena with way better sightlines and off site parking for 10.00 not to far from the arena with security I will be attending games there this season and hoping against hope that blake will soon be gone.
Maybe Boeing and Enron are looking for some astute leadership.

Saros is someone i like but not at an equal trade value situation.
Since the Kings don't have an equal value goalie, the trade would have to include a forward, D, or youngster.
Seeing as the Kings could already lose Roy, and Arvi this summer. Losing another top forward or D on top of that would be taking a lot of talent in the skaters group away next sesson to fill the goalie spot.
If its a youngster we are probably talking Thomas and Turcotte who will most likely take away from the forward group next season.
Clarke is out of the question.
So is Copley done?
Well alrighty then...good on the Kings. After all these years, patience is not a virtue...it's a sign of weakness. And who cares what other players in the league think of the Kings? It's not like any given team deserves the Cup. But it also isn't given out to losers/lazy players/bullies and people who think they've gamed the system. So this trade just secures my feelings of hope for my team. whether we win or not, at least we're trying. Maybe Dubois does good on-yet another-team. I mean, we had Lucic...we had St. Louis, and both guys played with honor and pride and gave us their best-whether or not they were meant to stay was on our management team. Now then, about goaltenders...how many did we go through over the past 10+ years? And we kept trading them off/pushing them along/moving them out, mostly for nothing. Ao I am delighted to get Darcy Kuemper back. This time around, our defenders are a bit better, our [remaining] young people are a bit better/more proven/able to hold up their end of the deal. Maybe things'll work out, this time around? Eddie, I feel a sense of relief with this deal. Thanks to Blake and Luc for coming through. Everyone makes mistakes. What comes out of this is knowing how to manage players, what we can afford, and making strong decisions/working with what you've got! Management knows what they get with Darcy. Thus, perhaps we can find a way to get the Kings to kick the can up the hill and produce above expectations. regarding Edmonton, they have proven to have been one of the top 5 teams in the NHL this year...and, likely, a top three team over the past three years. I can find honor in how we finished. Eventually, our guys will find a way to cross that barrier and rise above McDavid and the little nazi. Since the trade is done, I don't care who wins the Cup...and McDavid really is one of the greatest hockey players of my lifetime. Note: I imagine Eddie is quickly putting something together as I type. This really was an avalanche piece of news!!! rl
