      That freaking rules! I love 70s keys and synths, and that little synth has some serious soul to it. Way to show it off as well, very expressive and the sounds are so comforting and familiar. Thousands of songs from the 70s are doable with this 🤩

      @markfish8403 yey!! 🙌 glad you enjoyed. And yes it's such a cool little keyboard. I also bought the organ version (yc) but I prefer the CP.

      @@JonathanRCross I have to dig in on the keys but it's very inspiring to play and to mess around with effects on the sound. Once I get my mixer I'll be back in the group challenges again. I can't really jam with a two channel interface.

    playing yamaha reface with different keyboard, does it affect the velocity response positively ?

    • @JonathanRCross
      @JonathanRCross  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Am not sure as I've never really played the reface's actual keyboard, I did consider it when planning a gig, but I'd be taking the big keyboard anyway so may as well benefit from the extra width and range. But no idea sorry.

    I'm trying to decide if it's worth going right for the YC73 at $2600, or getting one of these as I save for the YC. I hate buying equipment I'm going to sell in 6 months, but the Reface CP seems to have it's own character worth keeping, even after I get the YC. Thanks again for a great demo.

    • @JonathanRCross
      @JonathanRCross  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hilarious because I've been exactly the same about the yc! It's next on my list(edit: no it isn't, the reface yc is on my list, not the yc73😆) (mostly due to the Leslie sim!)
      I'd say the cp will also bring you lots of glorious warm sounds as well, but can't tell you one way or the other. Save to say, both are inevitable at some point!! 🙌

      Thankyou! I have a number of synths and drum machines in my setup. In this case the outputs from the cp, go into a small mixer which has a usb audio out into my computer , but essentially yes the output is just what you hear from the cp (via a mixer)

    What’s the midi controller you’re using?

    • @JonathanRCross
      @JonathanRCross  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Truly an awesome little device. Same as the yc awesome Hammond plus Leslie !
      Keyboard is a Casio previa px330. I bought it cos it’s incredibly light to move about. So it’s not a proper midi controller but a pretty decent (lightweight) piano/keyboard. Still does the job

      @@JonathanRCross Cool, I'm looking for a decent midi controller for the stuido, but want a nice action for low price. Probably gonna go with the Kawai es120 feels amazing to play, gonna take my reface cp to the shop and connect it to see how it pairs with the Kawai keybed. The recent Casio's are way better than they used to be. And they have a lighter action than most brands which I like. So many of the weighted midi controllers are fatiguing to play for more than short periods and it drains the fun out of it. Thanks for getting back to me

      @@JonathanRCross I also have a Casio CTs1 but I need a usb hub to control the Reface CP. I'm not a pianist so don't want to invest in an 88 keyboard, 61 is enough. Reface CP is much brighter and livelier than the Rhodes tones on CTs1. I should invest in a usb hub.
