A Possessive God

- Why is God possessive when He is supposed to be beyond attachment and relationships? The simple and straightforward answer is, "For the devotees' good alone." That is the reason why God does each and everything that He does.
The experiences of many people clearly show that it didn't matter to Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba whether you followed Him or any other name/form of the Guru/God. But again, some other experiences show that He is extremely possessive of the devotee. Even a moment's reflection and introspection opens our eyes to the magnanimous and magnificent Grace of Swami.
This is a talk delivered in the Satsangh Hall at Prasanthi Nilayam on 14th September 2018.

I cannot thank you enough for this video brother.🙏🙏🙏🙏i am typing but couldn't hold on to my tears. I remember one incident, i did not cry not even a single drop of tear in my eyes when our swamy left his body because I always that swamy is in my heart, he cannot die. He lives for ever in my heart. One drop of tear in my eyes would mean that he left me. but on the last birthday celebration found swamy weeping on the diaz. Felt really bad. Could not understand his feelings. But now after listening to your video, I feel that swamy was weeping because he knew that he is leaving the body and cannot give another opportunity to all his devotees to celebrate his birthday with his physical presence. (No physical darshan for us anymore.)
Now I feel it was our loving swamy's feelings for his love(that's us).🙏

A true devotee is equally as possessive as the Lord..craving for His attention & love..true devotees like Meera Bai, Prahalada, ... Purandara Das, Thyagaraja, Annamacharya.....they all had true devotion for one form of the God.

During darshan, we noticed Swami paying more attention to some individuals ...and we often feel jealous... for materialistic reasons it is very bad.. however, feeling possessive for God's love as a spiritual seeker is acceptable!!🙂
Swami is impartial and absolutely equal for all.....!!.....swami sees them just because they are in some trouble or in bad need for the energy transmit for their material or spiritual problems....... I have personally experienced this....!!....when i visited putta parhti .in 2003.......i am just 17 year old agnostic student.........but swami ignored so many VIPs standing beside me.....and looked at me intensely........that made me filled with bliss called Brahmananda..... Till then i don't know what the swami and other gururs talking that different kind of happiness..... Which is absolute and final.......swami can grace any one any where on the earth.......even now.

Annamayya or Annamacharya is one movie which I deliberately searched it on the net after hearing it multiple times from your many other talks and once from brother Amey.
I watched it just 2 days back and while watching that, I have placed 2 vows in my prayers on the very same day. Just nice it was a Thursday then. This 2 vows are nothing but Bhagawan made me to simply direct my whole focus only unto Him.

Sairam Brother. We can also find glimpses of His " possessiveness" when He talks about His students. Very often, while referring to students, He lovingly and with " pride" calls them " My boys". And we are fortunate to have satsang with a member of that Blessed Group.

Swami is possessive because after working so hard, by taking on all the difficulties of His students and devotees, to bring them to some semblance of good person, He doesn't want to see them go back to their old wayward ways.
Remember how Swami used to shut Himself in the Interview Room when the students went on vacation; not because of sadness about their absence or even possessiveness, but because of the fear that the sudden change of scenario in their respective hometowns would mislead them to fall into incorrect ways.

Thank you brother , for this amazing , wonderful video. It's such a joy listening to your narration , last Gurupoornima was the first time I was at Parthi after Swami's Mahasamadhi. It was extremely painful not to see that beautiful Physical Form and even harder to leave Parthi after Gurupoornima. Listening to anything related to Swami brings so much joy especially your videos. Annamaya is one of my favourite movies, I watched few times, crying everytime for the last scene. , thank you for bringing that scene to my memory again. Om sri Sairam, the miracles done by satya sai baba are criticizing in some videos with so many proofs. Are they posting animated videos. Once upon on a time I am devotee of baba. Now I am not but a doubt arises in my mind why I am not able to be happy by avoiding baba even though there is proof. Give me reply that are they animated videos or not give elaborated reply. Think me as your brother who is handicapped in reaching god. Please give me straight and elaborate reply upon criticizing videos that are posted on TH-cam. If you gave reply to my comment you will be the god that lit a light of Love on god in my heart to defeat the darkness of bad impression on god
