Thanks Fred! I installed the 2" pod spot lights, so we'll see if that's enough light. This model has the new LED lights, so they will be brighter than the old stock ones.
wintch i think is supposed to go the other way around, under the plastic cover on left side you will find designated place for the wintch relay, there is specific place to take the ground, then all thats left to do is just to route the + cable, witch from left side is easy.
I had thought about that, mind have to bend a couple of fingers in strange directions LOL! I can easily switch it to the other side if needed. Thanks Mark!
I'm just about to swap the steel cable out for synthetic rope on my 2024 outlander 700 xt and I need a hawse fairlead. What is the distance between the holes? I keep my Quad at my Mother's house and I forgot to measure it. My new synthetic rope arrived today so I'd like to get the hawse fairlead asap. Thanks!
Hey Rob, I’m just curious. When winching another ATV out of a hole, what gear should I be in if in stand still and is it damaging to pull someone out in reverse. Thank you.
I've pulled with the winch and pulled with the atv in reverse and never had an issue. Usually I'm in neutral though with the brakes on and winching while they slowly try to drive in low gear. I don't pull anyone dead stick, they must be slowly trying to ease their way out at the same time I'm winching. Using a pulley to double the pulling power also helps a lot. For the most part I don't winch anything bigger than my machine either.
Im curious as to why you went with this brand Winch rather than the one that Can Am typically uses. It seems like the Warn brand that Can Am uses is more “plug and play”. Genuinely asking.
I didn't have any good luck with the Can Am Warn that came with my '16 XMR 850 and the Canadian Tire brands work just as good and a lot cheaper. I don't like this "Eliminator" winch though, too noisy and extremely slow. If I had to buy another one I'd go with the "Champion" one which I've had in the past. Thanks!
Just installed mine tonight ! I realized you don’t have to splice into the ignition as they have an accessory lead that runs up to the opposite side !
Nice, I missed that, thanks! Happy Trails!
Any pictures of that accessory lead ?
I don't have any pics of it, have to look next time I take it apart...
@RobFarrowATV did you happen to get any pics of the accessory lead yet? I'm about to install a winch on mine too.
Like the battery terminal set ups. Pretty handy. Need to install the light bars while you have the covers off.

@@RobFarrowATV I saw that, I wrote the comment prior to finishing the video. I can't edit comments while on my tablet.
No problem Fred.

How did you tap into the ignition wire? I’m having issues with that for mine. I have the same bike and same winch
Just skinned the wire and wrapped the new lead around it. Then soldered them together so they won't come apart and taped it up. Good Luck!
Well that was a fairly painless install ! All those covers look nice but are a pain when you need to get under them.
The covers come off pretty easy, especially compared to the original design they had. Thanks Vance!
Rob are you going to be able to run the winch and the throttle at the same time

Measures 4 7/8" You'll like the synthetic rope much better. Thanks!
Looking good,feeling good lol 😂
Thanks Mark!

i thought for sure that you would have bought an XMR this time !!
I guess we will see how you modify this one to suit .
LOL! No, I'm done with the extreme mud riding, sticking with exploring and trail riding. Thanks Michael!

@@RobFarrowATV good insight. Thank you.
No problem...
You should bring it out to the poker run in Red Rock this Saturday
First.
LOL, way to go Marc!
@@RobFarrowATV I really do like what's underneath the pod.
The way they have the intakes high up now nice to see.
Ya seems to be laid out pretty good and easy to access.
