Nice preview. As someone with a 2015 outlander 650 (v-twin) I can certainly appreciate what can am has done to make these machines more "work oriented". The new engine braking controls are amazing as the old outties have ridiculously aggressive engine braking. The new clutch is nicer too for work. The old canams clutching is basically an on/off switch. These new ones also seem much easier for maintenance. It seems like can am actually listened to people when it came to all the faults of the outties and made a proper utility machine. That being said I still love the sportier v twin versions but these new ones will definitely make Yamaha and Suzuki pay attention and update their machines. Can am basically has an ATV for every purpose now instead of just having sporty machines pretending to be utility machines.
Excellent comment, thank you! I’ve pinned it, so it’s easier for viewers. One thing I forgot to mention, but your experience highlighted, is how Can-Am has listened to owners: No more “Can-Am rock” - shifting park-reverse-high-low was very smooth, and I’m told this is a significant improvement over the 2022 Outlander. The throttle and engine braking adjustability worked flawlessly, and I know what you mean about ATV’s with too aggressive engine braking.
@@fromontario6954 thank you for that info - I'm not too familiar with the Can-Am ATV's and it sounds like they've made some excellent improvements for 2023. It's a great machine!
I took delivery of this exact vehicle last week. Just had to let you know....the battery is not under the seat. What you saw there were just two remote terminals so you could jump start the machine if needed. The battery is accessed under the right rear fender in a separate compartment. Other than that, good video.
That's good to know, thanks for the comment! I made an assumption on what those terminals were for and didn't actually check. Thanks for correcting me. I really enjoyed riding the Outlander, Can-Am did an excellent job!
Go buy the Yamaha Kodiak 450 instead and have a more reliable better more capable atv. You might as well get something that last the can am 500 isn’t fast or anything.
Unfortunately, they didn’t have an HD5 demo unit available and I couldn’t compare. The 570 Polaris comes close to the HD5, power-wise, and the HD7 felt stronger. However, Can-Am has drive modes, where the Sportsman doesn’t and I think that makes a bigger difference than the extra 10 horsepower.
@@JoshuaOverman That's interesting, and I'd love to compare the two. This is why I'm such an advocate of trying before buying. Being able to compare is critical in making the right decision for each individual buyer.
@@JoshuaOverman I'm looking at both and I have to say, one year in, that is the first time I've heard the opinion that the Grizz is the better trail ride. Please share more as I haven't been able to ride the new HD7 but by all accounts I've read you have better travel on a quieter more plush ride with the Can Am.
That’s a good question, and I don’t know the answer. Probably not going to set any speed records, but I would expect it to be respectable for the engine size.

They also address the heat on legs issues with the new design. And added a couple storage options.

That’s great. Finally someone explained if the different settings worked good or not. Being able to adjust the Engine Braking is a Major plus for me !
Me, too! I didn't think it was possible to do that electronically, but it worked very well.
I like this maschine because of towing capacity is 830 kg.
Good point! Can-Am did a great job on the new Outlander
Exact model Can-Am I’m currently looking at. Don’t ride through crazy mud I think this machine would be perfect for my needs.
It’s a great machine, Can-Am did an excellent job with this one.
Crazy just happen to catch you video. At the end to my surprise you mention a dealer that I went to my whole childhood. Got my first wheeler from RS&C
Awesome! They’re good to work with.

Jump starting or connecting add-on accessories?
Great video as always !
Thank you!
Looks like a nice machine!
Can-Am did a good job, I could've ridden it all day!
Nice review. I’m in the market for the Camo 500 pro. The 700 is just too much $ up here.
Go buy the Yamaha Kodiak 450 instead and have a more reliable better more capable atv. You might as well get something that last the can am 500 isn’t fast or anything.
Did you get a chance to ride the HD5 to compare power?

Does it have a smooth ride to make a good trail ride?
I think it would make a good trail machine. Hopefully, others will add their opinions to this question.
Nope not at all the Yamaha grizzly is a obvious better buy for this size class

What’s the top speed on it

I just bought a hd7 pro ux and was just curious. I pick it up after work today. Great video
I wouldn't give $10 for a Polaris! They are junk!
Can Ams are nice!
I'm a Honda guy myself!
I had an old Honda Foreman and that would take any kind of punishment and come back for more. Indestructible!
Might as well get a grizzly 700 over this since the power is comparable and the grizzly will be reliable unlike this
