Hello, I just finished sorting a massive amount of Christmas fabric from a friend. I think I'll be busy making Christmas quilts for the next few months! I hope you have a cheerful week ahead! Thank you for sharing your video and for your talent.
Excellent! Since your last video, I have started a Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt. I have made 30 different flowers from Civil War fabrics with the 1.5" hexagon papers and they are ready for the next step. I have a package of ivory colored 10" squares that I plan to applique them to before sewing them together into a large quilt. I'm off to practice and start appliqueing. Thank you, ladies. My confidence is growing with each video!
Awesome, really enjoy watching the Toots on Toosdays, and of course all the other PQW videos. I have purchased your book and a few tools and supplies and will be making my attempt at quilt as I go. Really looking forward to this. I love the idea that I can quilt a whole large quilt all by myself on my domestic machine. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and talent.
Great tips on blanket stitch Pauline and Joey, thanks for this video. I picked up a few pointers, which will be really helpful. when I start quilting my pieces.
Sandy , I always use the Bohin Fabric marking pencil. you can find them on my website www.pqw.com.au they come with both Black & White leads you can continue to purchase lead refills for the pencil. Regards Pauline
Dysy, I do not release the tension . i adjust the pressure on the sewing foot . this allows the fabric to glide so easy under the foot , it is like free motion quilting but it is controlled quilting without free motioning. So very easy to learn and do. Cheers Pauline
My blanket stitch is done on the other side, but end result is the same - I am confused now, haven't used it for a while. The new/applied fabric is on the left under the presser foot, with the backgorund fabric on the right.
That is right Elaine, I always say what ever suites you best is the way to do it. It is all about the look you want. Have fun with what you are making. Cheers Pauline

Quilt before applique!
Great teaching videos. You cover so many aspects of the process. What pen/marker do you use to mark your sample with?
Sandy , I always use the Bohin Fabric marking pencil. you can find them on my website www.pqw.com.au they come with both Black & White leads you can continue to purchase lead refills for the pencil.

When you adjust your tension does it matter if the pressure foot is up or down?

Was that the top tension or the bobbin tension
Hi Kay, it was the top tension we had to adjust on our machine.
Keep enjoying Pauline.
