Adam, I see that you, like me, have done your scripture memory from the KJV. I don't use that version now, but all my childhood memory work was from there.
Aren't you making a great assumption by saying Matthew's Gospel says Jesus ascended from Galilee? Matthew does not say He was taken up or He ascended or that he was taken from their sight. Jesus speaks to them and gives them the Great Commission. The words He speaks are not the same words used in Acts where Luke give more detail of what Jesus said at the Ascension. So how can you say Matthew is placing that event in Galilee?
