  • A look around the remains of a wartime-era coastal battery. Cloch Battery was in use during both world wars. It served as a watch point and firing position overlooking the River Clyde.

More hidden relics, this is beautifully shot. The natural surroundings provide a vivid contrast to the concrete and the music is spot on.

Yea it's a nice area of woodland. You're only a short walk from town, but you could be in the middle of nowhere. 🙂

This was filmed so beautifully we enjoyed watching! We visited a similar place a few weeks ago and will be putting it out in 2 weeks. It is so good to explore and learn our history. Thanks for sharing love how this was put together. New subscribers.

What a great slice of history you captured brother. It is so awesome and humbling to stand in areas like this. One of my biggest regrets is that when I was back east in the states and in Europe and visited some of these places myself. I wasn't into making videos or taking photographs so I only have the memories of such places in my head that I will ultimately take to my grave and will not be able to share them with anyone else . Thanks so much for sharing this amazing video.

At least you have the memories. There are a few places I have visited in the past that I really wish I had been into filming then aswell. Some I might need to try and visit in the future, others are lost. Hope all is good 🙂

@@Urbexygreat vid buddy they would had booms there stop subs breaching that was big defence point

  • @roddyk05

Just down the road from me. I knew there were quite a few bits and pieces left over from the war there but never investigated myself. The ‘boom’ used to stretch from there over to Dunoon to keep enemy subs out of the estuary while they made up the convoys etc. Lots of war time history in the area, hope you do more in the vicinity. 👍

I'm local to the area so do cover a fair bit of local history. The Cloch battery is sure worth a look around.

Yea it would have been nice to see this as it was. Sadly a lot of it was lost when they developed the caravan park back in the 60s-70s.

It's sure worth checking out if you get the chance. When you walk round the park you can sometimes see little reminants of the former battery 🙂
