I have both the Drunken and Sebenza with Adam Purvis Timascus Clips and they are quite similar. I have the Knifeart exclusive Carbon Fiber Sebenza 21 with Insingo blade shape it cost $525 stock but I also have a custom spydie hole instead of thumb studs. The difference before mods on these knives is $100 and I think both generally share the same specs down to the weight which is incredible for the durability that they give you, I also think they are well worth the money in my eyes. In regards to Spyderco a lot of the money goes to the milling work and details which is really impressive to even non-knife people, con is a clip that needs to be bent out. Chris Reeve Knives justifies it's cost by giving you a knife that they will care for for a lifetime, that warranty service is great just by itself. You also pay for a knife that is built to last years and look good doing it in any environment on the field or in an office. Cons for the Sebenza are hard to come by its more of an opinion, like the design of the thumb studs or if someone is looking for the best fidgeting knife they won't find it in the Sebenza. Both are solid knives in my EDC rotation, the Drunken gets more pocket time because it carries a little better and impresses people the most at a quick glance. The Sebenza gets carried on days of significance to me, I don't beat on these knives but I do use them for light EDC task and they both make me really happy to pull out and use. The price that I pay is worth the joy that it brings me, I had to save just like anyone else but when it was time to spoil myself (Birthday) I decided to get my self a Sebenza 21 that I could hopefully pass down to my kids one day :) Sorry my comment is so long..

This will be my next knife purchase. I handled one at a blade show and really liked it.

$690...on sale up here in Canada! Insanely high priced. Regularly $1,007.99CDN! Beautiful knife either way!

Bought it a year ago and sold it because of the clip. Regretted it so much I just bought one again. Will keep.

I handled one and was very impressed. IMO it’s probably worth the price, with the exception being I don’t believe Spyderco can offer the warranty service I expect on a knife of this price. If I had greater faith in Spyderco’s warranty, I probably would pick one of these up.

YES , I'm glad Spyderco stayed with the Washers . The $409.00 is about twice as much as I would pay for the knife

Spyderco pricing serves one purpose for me which is calculating how many knives I can get for the same money. Also, that lockup looks more dodgy than a guy in trenchcoat lurking near the playground with a bag of candy...

This one is steep no question but I don't always find them that bad the angle makes the lock up look late but it's not bad

@@Kevinclearysharpstuff it's enough to undermine my personal confidence in the tool. When choosing a blade a major factor is I always ask myself "do I trust this blade enough to have my life potentially depend on it?" Spyderco knives have never gotten a yes from me to that question

I prefer the ZT Sinkevich Knives myself and they are cheaper.

It's a good looking knife, but kind of pricey for me. That being said, I appreciate it when companies do a good job with their CF like this one has. Nice milling, which adds a touch of class, without being to gaudy or over the top. Simple elegance, and top notch materials, is great, and I hope it's built well, with tight tolerances, but for that money, there are some pretty attractive alternatives.

Did you say $400? Pricing in the mid-tech range seems high to me, but I can see why others might feel fine about the investment given the designer and the blade steel.

I wouldn't pay 400 for any spyderco knife not that I dont like spyderco I love the slyz bowie and the spydiechef but theres much better knives at that price in my opinion . You should review the hinderer full track I just got one the first thing I thought of this is a Kevin cleary knife

Agree this knife is a GO, the clip sucks but not gonna let ONE thing keep me from getting it. Paysan is a NO GO. It has too many issues. WMK is and has been sold out of the Drunken. Saving 10% on the Drunken makes it an acceptable price. Thanks for video.

Can't believe they sold out I got this from them less than a week ago, never fails if I say it in a vid they are always sold out I'm gonna have to stop saying I think these are in stock

I could never afford to pay that much for a production knife. Several full customs are cheaper

That lock up looks a little suspect. It’s late which is fine. But it doesn’t look like a flat tang, looks ramped. You think there may be a lock slip isssue over time?

    • @Kevinclearysharpstuff
      @Kevinclearysharpstuff  5 ปีที่แล้ว

I'm not worried its actually flat or close to it so should be good to go

Ive had my drunken for a few months now, the action only gets better. No complaints. The Pocket clip thing ...wasnt a thing to me, and once clipped in it isnt going anywhere. Would be very interested in a comparison with the sibenza. A knife i have never held ..but asthetics alone, the Drunken wins every time. imo.
Great video, looking forward to the next.
