Wonderful piece! Audiences would love it. Why is it never performed? _(Too bad this upload is marred by all kinds of glitches and dropouts.😕)_

Yes Mark, I believe it was! Not actually delian, but there's no sonata form (etc), no repetition, a strange harmonic vocabulary and quick changes of mood. So there's something to hang on to. . . . in the famous Ken Russell film both Delius and Jelka said of him indepently "sometimes he composes"!! to Eric Fenby. But Grainger was a great composer and (like many others) has yet to have his day, especially at the Proms. I think the Proms gets worse and worse, I don't know about you?
Anyway, you're obviously a Delius fan, like me, so let me know of any gems you find about him!!
Many thanks, best wishes, from Richard Duckett, of Team Brass .

"The only one who writes English music is Percy Grainger and he's an Australian "wrote Delius in the early 1920s I agree with you that the Proms are dreadful the absence of Delius for the last few years is appalling

Well, that would get the purists backs up.
Two fantastic composers, every bit the measure of their detractors.

A good Star Wars soundtrack was lost on this ballet.
