There are some sketchy places in Managua. I put that title since I have lot of people who want to know how the country is after the 2018 protests. I do have to admit the country is a lot safer now.
The trick is to not appear anything close to half wealthy. Dont be flashy. No jewelry. I have lived in SJDS since 2010 and spent about 6 months in Managua. SJDS is the only village I would live near. Personally, I will only live by the ocean. I hate the humidity of the interior. It’s bad enough on the coast., the interior has horrible humidity . its cheap and friendly. And most of the people are the best. My best friends are Nica. A racial mix of people from the Americans and Spanish Europeans.. I know little of life on the Caribbean, can’t stand the humidity for very long. No place is perfect, but the south coast area around SJDS is pretty close. The Atlantic hurricanes hit further north and so does the Pacific El Niño . We are like in a bubble. The bad weather just misses us. The food is organic and lots of beach resort. , With lots of tourist activities. Nica is doing a lot of work to make it a vacation/tourst ares. The new coast road is about 100 miles long. With paved roads to all the beaches. And it’s safe. The police are good, if you’re a good person. You will be treated with respect. Nica is the best deal,, Panama and Costa Rica are getting American prices. And they are not as safe
Bro it's safer here than in the US/ Europe...
