Same. I thought I'd be cute and sing it to my daughter she rolled her eyes and stormed off. When I laughed and asked what question mark (haha) she said ewwe who has a crush on their teacher. God Bless her naivety!
I love this beautiful tunes also it brings me back so many great memories of high school dances and the pretty girls 😂 merry Christmas to you friend from NBC Canada country
Haha! I know what you mean! Haven't heard it for at least 25 years...totally forgot about it and then out of nowhere, it pops into my head. Amazing what the mind holds on to and stores away!
I wrote a little note to leave at my husband's work.. with the chorus on it. I don't know why I thought of it other than it's true STILL after 40 years!
I must have been in elementary or middle school when I heard this for the first time. I ended up being an English teacher and would always sing this to my students randomly. They had never heard it, and I started thinking I made it up. Glad I know I wasn't going crazy.
Really? An English teacher even though you just said "They had never heard it, and I started thinking I made it up." Obviously you meant to say "they" instead of "I." And you are an English teacher? Did you lose your own grammar book? Lol.
This song takes me back to the good old days :). this was huge back. Everyone was singing it. Its been more then 15 years since I heard this and im glad I found it on here. Puts a smile on my face. I actually remember most of the words not just the catchy chorus
@@Lance37a The Black Crowes first two albums were mixed by Brendan O’Brien, who was Baird’s band mate in the Georgia Satellites and produced this album and his other one. So yeah... They all sound like a 1990s era Brendan O’Brien.
BIG BIG greetings to this marvellous heavy rocking and melodius dancing number ! It is many days since i head such energetic rock - thanks heaven for that lively and positive good vibrations. For sure i will buy a ticket to the next liveconcert in europe, hopefully - if possible - some place in scandinavia. Such music makes me feel young again, and i feel very lucky for still beeing alive in this historic period of rytmic music.
I been looking for this song for at least 20+ years , it's a catchy tune & awesome song that never gets played anywhere it seems , finally glad I found it & from reading the comments there must be ALOT of people out there that feel the same around the same age 😁😁😁😁😁
So well recorded. So well played. Such a great Tele Tone. An d I forgot how well directed and shot this vid was. Everyone involved with this should be damned proud.
I probably haven't heard this song in like 27 years but I remember the chorus so clearly. This was a hit then disappeared. I thought it was more poppy but this sounds more country. But country was so huge then it doesn't surprise me that a pop song sounded so country.
I remember when this song came out. I was in a cover-top 40 band and we learned it. We learned it thinking it would be a big hit and then never played it cause it never really caught on. Still don't know why. Great song.
What was the name of the band? The bands I were in (Drummer): The Black Cats (4th grade 1972), Iron Trashcan 1979, ZRocks 1980-83, Tempest 83-85. Then I cut my hair & gave up on music and went in the Army! (But my Friend Lars Ulrich made it!)
An underappreciated all time great Southern rocker. His work with the Satellites and solo were fantastic. My hearing loss in part can be traced to the need to listen on the loud setting when he is played. Fair trade l think.
I thought this song was older than 1992. I mean, I heard it when I was a wee nipper, thus the early 90s, but since then I've transformed it into a Romantics style 80s rock jam. Time makes fools of us all.
So, i would sing the chorus part to my son from 2009 (when he was born) to the present day. I think he thought that I was crazy, but I could never get it outta my mind. Not to mention, he started to sing along with me eventually... So I was just thinking about it and remembered I have the sound search app on my phone. So i sang it and voalla!!,, here I am! So cool....
I remember my cousin playing this song over and over when I was little and visiting them. Occasionally the chorus of this song has popped in my head over the yrs and I've been trying to find it a while. He still thinks its funny that I know the words to it almost 20yrs later after only hearing it a few times.
Were you related ? Last name is the same. This song popped into my head after years and years and it's on a loop. That's ok, I'm singing out loud and smiling today 😊
You know what's funny? I wrote a love letter to a teacher when I was in the sixth grade. Slipped it in her mailbox and we've been married ever since (okay, that last part was a lie).
I thought I'd be cute and sing it to my daughter she rolled her eyes and stormed off. When I laughed and asked what question mark (haha), she said ewwe who has a crush on their teacher. God Bless her naivety!
Saw him and his band life in Amsterdam, long time ago (80ties) in De Melkweg (The Milkyway...hha) and he was great, gave a hell of a concert, loud, rocking, 2 and a half hours of swinging ppl, just fantastic.
One of the last songs heard on the video jukebox network paragon cable channel 44, back in May of 1992. The video jukebox station would flip to the olympics triplecast then to yet another first choice pay per view channel. Thanks for posting!!!
@@albertocarrenorojas7300 Hi Alberto. The grammatically correct sentence would be "Here's the way that it should have gone." Unfortunately, "gone" didn't rhyme with "sentiment," so Dan Baird changed it and made it grammatically incorrect, which is ironic since the song is about an English teacher.
It’s been 30 years since this Gem was released and I always sing it and not one soul knows it and thinks I’m nuts 😂😂😂 I love this song
Me too & my kids think I'm crazy
My band used to play it and people would ask if we rote it of cause i would say yes

My kid thinks that this guy didn't have many friends growing up because of what this song is about.
Me too!!!
I don't know why this song popped into my head after all these years!!! I have not heard this shit in forever!!! Now I just feel really young again!!!
It's a lost classic.

Keona B. Sanders 🤣that's exactly why I'm here! Was just asking if anyone had ever heard and I was the only one, thought well maybe I made it up
Keona you are gorgeous.
I remembered this song from jr high and came to find the music video after grading a bunch of student papers. I just wish the lyrics mentioned commas!
Really? An English teacher even though you just said "They had never heard it, and I started thinking I made it up." Obviously you meant to say "they" instead of "I." And you are an English teacher? Did you lose your own grammar book? Lol.
1992 in the 2nd grade a girl used to chase me around during recess singing the chorus line trying to kiss me under the tire mountain
I love this song period.
I love WAP period lol

Just found this song again after 25 years. A hidden gem of the 90s
The guitar work in this guy’s music is severely underrated.
This just popped in my head right now out of the blue and I'm glad it did. Takes me back.
It took me back too.
Came out when I was 19,now I'm 45 and still blast this in my '66 Datsun Pickup
Haha we are the same age and I totally loved this song...
always liked this song. thought it was so creative not to mention just a really cool tune
Love Dan Baird

There's a catchy chorus??? Isn't that the whole song???
30 years ago this song hit the airwaves. It still resonates!
my 3 month old baby will cry until u play this song 😂💗
I've only heard this once on the radio in my lifetime, quite some time ago. It was nice to find it here and hear it once again.
Heard Keep Your Hands to Yourself earlier on the radio, and it reminded me of this. Had to look it up & listen to it. I've always liked it.
I haven't heard this since high-school back in 92! Took me right back to when me and my friends used to sing it at the top of our lungs! Good times!
Just Dan Baird, living his best life. Keep on rocking, Dan!

A 1992 song that sounds like 70's.... Fantastic !!!!!
You had the Black Crowes and Izzy Stradlin doing pretty much the same thing back then.

Still rocks & is better than 90% of "rock" now. Classic
I'd say better than 99%.
Oh my God, I love this song my daughter just sent it to me such a great memory!!!❤
1992 was a very rough year for my mom and me. But it had some really great movies and songs from it. This is one.

The greatest song and the best band on the planet still playing it in 2022
Love his gap! He's great. Love when people can embrace what other's may deem not attractive, makes them attractive! Rock it Dan!

this song is still around, wow. I was in the 5th grade when this came out. every one in the school would sing this at lunch. talk about a flash black!

Listening to this full-on blasted me back to my high school graduation.
I kid you not, heard this song for the very first time just over a week ago, October 2021. Totally kick-a**, plus clever lyrics.
I never realized that ROD STEWARTS HOT LEGS, BORN LOOSE, AND BALLTRAP are the whole Dan and Satelites catalog wrapped up in 3 songs
Dan himself has freely admitted this was ripped off from "Hot Legs" :)
WOW..at least honest👏
It was not Dan Baird that wrote this song .
Since you didn't bother to finish your sentence for whatever reason, it was written by a friend of Dan's named Terry Anderson. Big deal.
Hot Legs??? Ha ha. Go listen to Hot Legs again
