And it’s astounding how they can crawl down the approach. Just seeing a two hundred ton aircraft just moseying along, in no particular hurry, is insane.
They would occasionally fly over my house to land at Moffitt navel base near San Jose California. They looked like they are going to fall out of the sky they are so big. A absolutely beautiful airplane.
So cool seeing the Guppy still flying. Fun facts: the Dream Lifter is lighter than a standard 747 freighter, and only the 41 and part of the 42 section is pressurized.
I was in the original guppy at March AFB Ca. back in 70. Awesome even then. Worked on the C-97 back in 68-70. Loved the flt. deck. Was the reason I became a flt engineer. C-141.
Brother flew them during VN war, looking for Russian subs. They would harass the hell out of them with under water stuff, and when they finally surfaced they would ask if they needed 'assistance'!
I just love the sound of those Rolls-Royce Trent XWB 97 engines on Delta’s A350-1000. Fantastic British engine whose design roots can be traced back to the original RB-211 engine that powered the Lockheed Tristar over 50 years ago.
I was disappointed that Southwest Airlines didn't show a Boeing 737 Max maximum performance take off. Everyone is prompt to criticize the aircraft but few people really know how stunning their performance is. I really miss the old Boeing test pilots... i.e. rolling a Boeing 707, real chandelles and lazy eights flawlessly performed (which a 737 Max could do in the right hands).
I have to say it looks better than Dreamliner, one think I don't like is the black Batman/Robin eye mask on windshield that Airbus is using on their aircraft. It looks silly to me
I was an aircraft electrician at Wright-Patt. We had 5:32 several KC-135’s that still had the J57 water injection engines. One of the loudest engines I have ever heard.
@@douglasemerson9017 we had the water wagon tankers at Castle AFB and know what you mean about the ear splitting noise they made during a wet takeoff. Compared to the tankers, the turbofans on the B-52Hs just effortlessly whistled down the runway on takeoff
To me the US Air Force has the largest and most beautiful planes I ever seen. I am definitely going next year to Oshkosh to see and hear first hand 🇺🇸 .
...Boeing rook part in a three way competition for the Air Force's heavy lift competition with Douglas and Lockheed. The design they entered has a similar (but slightly smaller) "hump" for the flight deck to accomodate an opening nose . Unlike their competitors Boeing's was a low wing design. Juan Trippe (who founded Pan American) liked the concept and wondered if Boeing could build a lrge capacity airliner based on it, The rest was history.
yep, saw a video once where they explained it and reason is basically, that it tends to loose quite a bit of lift if they fly it slower (i.e. higher pitch at landing)
No way Delta actually brought an a350 that’s so cool is it because of the merge that they’re doing with Riyadh and American brought the Medal of Honor livery
Too bad there in no descriptions for each plane. Of course I recognized the massive C-5, and grand pa B-52. And the underrated A-10 (the plane every third world country allied with the US of A military should have).
...now that was a show. The Super Guppy, the Dreamlifter, a C-5, an A350-900, and a C-17. Sad that the AN-225 was destroyed by the Russians in 2022 or it may also have bee"n there.too.
Find it yourself. I haven’t seen one video from these guys where that’s present and the way I see it that’s too much work for them after filming it all.
@@InversiondudeIt pretty much is actually, the guppy is meant to make a 3 point landing but just cause of the way the plane is designed the nosewheel will land first followed shortly by the rear gear.
Guppy starting off strong with a nosewheel landing
Suprised it was so smooth
Noticed that too. Guess flaring is not it’s strong suit.
Perhaps a flare destroys the airflow over the vertical stabilizer.
it would be fun in a cross wind.
From my quick youtube search, every landing of the guppy is a nosewheel landing so i assume thats the correct way to land the bird.
C5's are just absolutely massive. Its incredible they get off the ground.
That Delta A350 is sexy
And it’s astounding how they can crawl down the approach.

used to fly in them every guard weekend from Langley to Dover..
They would occasionally fly over my house to land at Moffitt navel base near San Jose California. They looked like they are going to fall out of the sky they are so big. A absolutely beautiful airplane.
I flew on a C-5A from Yokota to Charleston S.C. by way of Alaska in the winter of 1971. To call the experience impressive would be an understatement.
New engines are crap.

@burnn3 obviously, you are typerated on the 747 , how is the dreamlifer to fly than the standard 747?
The fact that Delta brought one of their A350's for display is pretty damn cool to me.
It is pretty neat. I'll bet that captain doesn't get the pleasure of taking off that light very often.
So cool to see people enjoy the Dreamlifter. I see it every day at work, so i forget how truly unique it is sometimes.
it such a oool plane. love to see it myself one day
That is an insane flex and I will never blame you for flexing haha!
The Galaxy segment at the end was mesmerizing.
Seeing a giant fly is truly spectacular
Would’ve liked to have seen Southwest demonstrate some of that awesome low level stuff they’re so famous for lately…perfect place for it!
Thank you for including the P-3. My dad worked on them in the Navy.
...I remember flying on the civilian version, the L-188 on Northwest. Nice that the Super Guppy also uses Allison 501s, love that sound.
Brother flew them during VN war, looking for Russian subs. They would harass the hell out of them with under water stuff, and when they finally surfaced they would ask if they needed 'assistance'!
Thank you for being at the EAA Oshkosh Air Show. Seeing all of the aircraft the in Aviation Industry. Just soo beautiful!!😊😊❤😊😊

performance means nothing when the plane crashes itself and is riddled with manufacturing issues, you are disgusting
Noticed a wild difference on Thursday on my flight. Doubt it was full power but that MAX8 felt like it took off near instantly.
I was very happy to see a Southwest on the vid!
As “stunning” as the DC-10 🙄
They displayed it didn't crash, what more do you want. We have Airbus now which is much better.
Oh my god, so much epic planes in one video! 😍
Great Video, Plane after Plane after Plane. Love the flyby by the B-52.
Thank You! Its almost as good as being there!
The first plane looks like a flying dolphin.♥️
The Dream Lifter is huge. ♥️
The American Metal Of Honor is beautiful.♥️🤍💙
Great video.♥️♥️♥️
The Medals of Honor scheme was very cool!
I've flown the Dreamlifter, so cool to see it again.

@@dr.jiIIaIicecooper2587 yes, I agree even as a Boeing fan, I think the eye mask helps with the lines of the aircraft
I’m two clips in and I’m already planning next years trip to Oshkosh… Super Guppy and a Dreamlifter already? Blows RIAT out the water😮
Great coverage.
Team Travis representing!!!
0:14 I saw the NASA Supper Guppy flying over my hometown of Ocala, FL once, about five years ago.
INCREDIBLE. A B-52, that hasn't been updated. The high bypass fans on the retrofit, are so much quieter.
Not yet…
Pretty sure all flying B-52 are on the TF-33 still.
And slower
I was a crew chief on the B-52H in the 1980s. The 8 TF-33 engines have a very distinctive sound that being back many memories

omg, did that pilot wheelbarrow the Guppy? That was nosewheel first! Maaan, you make me regret not going to AirVenture this year.
"uhhhh Boeing Dreamlifter rock your wings please"
Galaxy we need you to stop before the green dot, you're following a cub
Good thing the big ones follow some procedures.
Dreamlifter, "look Johnny, that's how 777's are born!"

The DL A350 is a beautiful plane, but that AA 737 with the Medal of Honor livery and the water salute to boot was a nice touch.
That 737 was an Airbus A321.
@@stephenholland5930 I was going to say... that nose is way too rounded to be a 737.
Awesome. Thanks!
Kinda funny having the piston noise as the a350 was approaching.
The drop nose design on that A350 is so cool looking.

The live sound at 5:30 is quite humorous.
The B52 is just awesome and doesn’t show its age
oh my, the B-52
Glad Delta could make it to EAA when 1000s of other flights are grounded this week!
Great video, I just wish you would have put the type of aircraft in the video. Thanks
Ça c'est un meeting....!!!
What time did the super guppy land?
Have you ever noticed how similar the first 30’ of a 747 and a C-5 are?
Because the 747 freighter version was designed to have nose open like the C-5.

That was the most American Airlines landing I could’ve asked for.
2:43, she's a beauty!
13:57 what type is that?
I would have liked to see Kelsey out there with the dreamlifter.
The thing looks like a mistake, but it's been a long time since I have heard reciprocating engines. There is a memory file undisturbed.
None of the featured planes were piston. They were turboprops.
I heard that C-47 idling while something was landing behind it.
Did these heavies also need to rock their wings and land on the yellow dot ?
The LCF looks sorta like an A380 at 18:20.
The Guppy looks like Dann from the orville, you don't have to know the show to google it ;)

Nose wheel first for Guppy.. LMAO
Standard 3 points landing...

No most planes can only support 70% weight on nose wheel ……
