This title is very underrated in terms of both the level of difficulty and the sheer quality of it's platforming. It's very entertaining to watch my favourite TH-camr finally tackle my favourite Crash game! 😄
Oh yeah Crash 2 is definitely the west spot between level design and difficulty. Crash 1 has weird spikes in difficulty and Crash 3 is way too easy. By world 2 I had 50 lives or something.
I think you should try crash 4 on retro mode and if it appears to be really hard then you can switch to modern later. PS:Did you jump on polar for the extra lives?

I played much more Crash Bandicoot Warped than the first 2. But when I got the remade trilogy I quickly realised how much harder the first two were. Back then video games were unforgivable and not merely designed to be easy and have you spending lots of money - like many modern games.

Y’know, I wonder with the original trilogy all having animal riding stages with a Hog in Crash 1, Polar in Crash 2 & Pura in Crash 3, then will Crash 4 have any animal riding stages of any kind? It’d be nice if the Hog, Polar or Pura returned for those kind of stages in Crash 4.

Hey Lewis, When you’re going for the time trial gems (or any other non-box gems for that matter) and then the box gems, if you run back outside of the end of the level after getting the first gem and purposely lose a life (assuming you haven’t hit any checkpoints in the level) you can immediately go for that box gem without having to leave and reload the level, and you will keep the gem you already got. It just saves a bit of time lol
If I remember correctly, you can only spin kill the non spiked tortoises while you can only jump on or belly slam the spiked ones, I think at least, good idea to try out.

I think you should do crash 4 retro mode! That'll give you the classic crash vibes, and also make the things more exciting! If you know you can't lose no matter what happens, the game kinda loses its edge.
collecting all wumpa fruits will be an excruciating pain in crash 4. look at this video nitro section for example and think of what pain in the ass sections they could come up with.

If you do it on modern mode, it may make the video making experience better, however, having lives makes it great for us to watch you struggle with losing them.
In crash 2 and warped you need to use (B+X buttons) for being faster and (B+A+X buttons) for faster movement and high jumps. Then completing lvls will be more easy. (Sry for my English, hope it will help you)
Bro... Now that's a title I can relate to.. Yesterday I was replaying Crash 2 (The old PS1 version) just like you and the last Area (The futuristic one)... Bro.. I couldn't complete the first level, It was so hard, I rage quit & turned off my emulator 😂 Can't wait to see you play that part lol
You just gotta get a hang of the levels. Once you get comfortable with the levels. Crash 2 is fairly decent with the difficulty compared to the later levels of Crash 1.
I'll prefer to see you do retro mode once you get crash bandicoot 4 because I love to see people rage once they lose their lives and they know they have to restart the level I just enjoy watching that so much so yeah please do retro mode
Lewis, if you jump a certain amount of times in polar's body (in the hub world) it will give you 10 lives for free. And in the 4th warp room, theres a level where you can farm lives, its called Bee-having or something like that. To farm lives you have to go to a hive where they will spawn 5 bees, if you time it correctly, with the slide and a quick spin you should be able to kill all 5 of the bees that will spawn and get yourself 1 live.
@@bennetjackson3343 There's a bug, that lets you to surpass that barrier. When you have 99 lives and you get one more, before the live goes to the counter, you should pause and exit the level. That should do it.
I played the Remaster back when it released, and I gotta say I hated Crash 2. 1&3 are great, but to me, 2 is borderline bad. Stuff like getting crushed when you're not underneath it being a prime example. Needless to say, I rushed through this one as fast as possible.

Yeah, this one is my favorite Crash game on the N.Sane trilogy after i came to the realization Warped had a bit too many vehicle levels.

In my experience, you dont have to break the crates in the boulder levels. The boulder breaks them for you and it counts to your totals.

You don't have to destroy the crates in boulder dash the boulder destroys them for you
Lewis try doing a slide-jump-spin, so you can go even higher and further than a slide jump
also learn to slide spin to keep slide momentum
