@@craesh1001 The sheet metal on them is super thin. I have also seen examples where the the springs werent heat treated properly and thus fail after being left loaded for a short amount of time.
@@iplaypaintballalot I have over 100 of these mags from years of buying them. Not saying it isn’t true but mine don’t. If mag springs are an issue Wolff springs makes increased power springs which I’ve used on many clapped out Russian and Polish mags so it’s all a crap shoot when buying com bloc stuff that’s older than most of us.
Don't think I would have made the cut as wide. If you made it one rib wide, you could use an industrial adhesive to stick a piece of plastic over the void. This would preclude entry of dirt, ice, etc, but you couldn't palpate the stack to check to see how many rounds remain.

I would probably just recommend going the magpul way I'm sure they have something that suites your needs
The Croatian mags are the best new production mags around so your starting with a good base mag to chop up.

This is nice, but a company down in SoFlo called Kalasnikov USA makes the 40round mag with the window and they are STR8 🔥🔥

Not bad but I think an end-mill and a simple 6mm slot cut through both sides would look better and minimize ingress of FOD.
