Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up. Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Squirrel, Band-Maid often mix English with their Japanese lyrics. Their (very large) audience love it. They have fans all over the world (many English speaking). Many of us are "old" rock and roll fans and love this group because they have brought back our love of rock and roll. Their joy of playing before a live audience is contagious. How many bass/lead guitar duels do you see in rock and roll. Band-Maid does it all the time. If you ever get a chance to go to a live Band-Maid concert, do it. It will be one of the most enjoyable concerts you have ever been to. I have been to two of them and plan to attend more when they tour the U.S. again.

Thanks for the reaction and comments. These ladies are FIRE!!!!! MISA (Bass Guitar), Akane (Drums), and Miku (Rhythm Guitar and vocals) are arguably the best rhythm section in Rock music today. Pair them with Saiki (lead vocals) and Kanami (Lead Guitar) and you have a band oozing with talent that delivers pure energy and joy every time they perform. Their large catalogue of songs are insanely good, and yet they are criminally underrated and virtually unknown outside of Japan. Do check out more of their official live videos. Any one will do. I saw them in Atlanta last year to a sold out show with 1800 of your new best friends. These ladies hit the ground at 120MPH and hardly take a breath for the next 5-6 songs. They are redefining rock n roll.

Incredible musicians. You'll find that Japanese female rock and metal bands are magnificent musicians. You'll find that the Band-maid Bassist, Drummer and lead guitarist/composer are 3 of the greatest musicians on the planet.
In my opinion this is not their best mix but a great battle between Kanami and Misa. You might have notices that at least the three ladies (Kanami, Misa and Akane) are masters at their instruments. Then there is the lead vocalist Saiki who is perfect for the Band Maid sound. And the last one Miku, you might ask?! Well, Miku is Miku 🎤🎸🧙♀: Our little pigeon 🕊, pure energy, fantastic backing vocals and harmonies with Saiki, some wonderful lead vocal songs and these days very good on rhythm guitar ... she wasn't able to play the guitar in 2013 when she founded the band. Wait until you watched her very special "Omajinai Time" (🪄 magic spell time) during their concerts (they call them "Okyūji" = Serving). You will get tons of recommendations for your next song and might already have a long list. Welcome to BAND-MAID. You picked a good song to come on board with; they really shine when performing live and this one even has a bass & guitar battle and solos.
They are kick-a** lasses, aren't they! 👍😎😊 While they consider themselves "hard rock', they do have a wide range of styles within that, even retrospective balladic songs. About the only constant is they're having kick-a$$ FUN! Saiki, the lead singer, apparently wrote the lyrics about the husband of one of her friends that cheated on her, and it's directed at all the men who cheat on their wives and girlfriends, with the music by, I think, Miku, the rhythm guitar. Technically, neither MISA, bass guitar, nor Kanami, lead guitar played "solo's", because Akane, drums, was KILLING IT in support! They do ALL have actual solos, though, either as BANDMAID, or in their "arch-nemisis" BAND-MAIKO! Oh, they do do tours of the USoA, you'll read comments from people who have seen them, live, 3, 4, or more times - some on the same tour - which helps explain why they are all sell-out tours!
You wanted the live version more than the studio version anyway. The studio version doesn't have the extended solo. ps. You just got introduced to the greatest rock band on the planet at the moment.

Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up.
Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Squirrel, Band-Maid often mix English with their Japanese lyrics. Their (very large) audience love it. They have fans all over the world (many English speaking). Many of us are "old" rock and roll fans and love this group because they have brought back our love of rock and roll. Their joy of playing before a live audience is contagious. How many bass/lead guitar duels do you see in rock and roll. Band-Maid does it all the time. If you ever get a chance to go to a live Band-Maid concert, do it. It will be one of the most enjoyable concerts you have ever been to. I have been to two of them and plan to attend more when they tour the U.S. again.

Thanks for the reaction and comments. These ladies are FIRE!!!!! MISA (Bass Guitar), Akane (Drums), and Miku (Rhythm Guitar and vocals) are arguably the best rhythm section in Rock music today. Pair them with Saiki (lead vocals) and Kanami (Lead Guitar) and you have a band oozing with talent that delivers pure energy and joy every time they perform. Their large catalogue of songs are insanely good, and yet they are criminally underrated and virtually unknown outside of Japan. Do check out more of their official live videos. Any one will do. Japanese Rock and Metal has really taken off over the last Decade!! Leading the pack was Babymetal starting back in 2010, but it was their video "Gimme Chocolate" that exploded into the Wester consciousness in 2014 and opened the door to many other Japanese Rock and Metal groups.
It was Band Maid that took greatest advantage of this new space and while Babymetal is top of the Interational Japanese Metal world, its Band Maid that has picked up the Mantel of Rock'n'Roll by holding the line in Solid Guitar Rock that much of the West has left behind!!

And a thing about the maid outfits, Squirrel: as Fans and Maidiacs know, Miku -- the 2nd guitarist, lyricist, founder and who worked at a maid cafe -- wanted to show that everyday working "Kawaii" girls dressed as maids in high heels while having fun and smiling could rock as hard as any guy band sweating it up in their hip, poor tortured artists "outfits"... and by showing that contrast (the Gap), it would generate interest, which it so successfully has done! It also represents Woman Power (Equality), which is an important theme with the Maids.
Now they show up as Maids for all band business and interviews, etc. and have created a long-lasting, unmistakable, visual band brand. Very cleaver, Miku. Your diabolical plan for world domination is working, Po! Of course, none of this would work if their music and stage performance wasn't at such a remarkably high level. Incredible musicians. You'll find that Japanese female rock and metal bands are magnificent musicians. You'll find that the Band-maid Bassist, Drummer and lead guitarist/composer are 3 of the greatest musicians on the planet.
In my opinion this is not their best mix but a great battle between Kanami and Misa.
You might have notices that at least the three ladies (Kanami, Misa and Akane) are masters at their instruments. Then there is the lead vocalist Saiki who is perfect for the Band Maid sound. And the last one Miku, you might ask?! Well, Miku is Miku 🎤🎸🧙♀: Our little pigeon 🕊, pure energy, fantastic backing vocals and harmonies with Saiki, some wonderful lead vocal songs and these days very good on rhythm guitar ... she wasn't able to play the guitar in 2013 when she founded the band. Wait until you watched her very special "Omajinai Time" (🪄 magic spell time) during their concerts (they call them "Okyūji" = Serving).

They are kick-a** lasses, aren't they! 👍😎😊 While they consider themselves "hard rock', they do have a wide range of styles within that, even retrospective balladic songs. About the only constant is they're having kick-a$$ FUN!
Saiki, the lead singer, apparently wrote the lyrics about the husband of one of her friends that cheated on her, and it's directed at all the men who cheat on their wives and girlfriends, with the music by, I think, Miku, the rhythm guitar.
Technically, neither MISA, bass guitar, nor Kanami, lead guitar played "solo's", because Akane, drums, was KILLING IT in support! They do ALL have actual solos, though, either as BANDMAID, or in their "arch-nemisis" BAND-MAIKO!
Oh, they do do tours of the USoA, you'll read comments from people who have seen them, live, 3, 4, or more times - some on the same tour - which helps explain why they are all sell-out tours!
