I'm 3 years late seeing this, but I still remember my first fishing experience. I went in the boat with my father and grandpa, I was 4yrs old. I'm now 58yrs.old, but I remember it like it was just a few days ago. Because in the 2 hours we were fishing, I was the only one catching all the fish. The reason I remember it so well is, even when my Dad and Grandpa put thier lines into the water on either side of me, I was still the one catching the fish. And I know for sure that the both of them were really baiting thier hooks, because my father used 1 worm to bait all our hooks. My Dad got a little angry, but my Grandpa just started laughing, and then they both gave up about an hour of nothing for them. But they kept me out until the worms were gone, and I caught 24 bluegill and 2 really big sunfish. Thanks Dad and Grandpa, I will see you on the other side, and maybe we can do it again. And thank you HuffPost, for bringing up that memory for me.

I know the father wanted that perfect shot of his boy lookin into the camera with his fish but by god that was an amazing family moment! the excitement in this little boy's eyes, the joyful sister sharing a hug and how proud he was of himself and the smile that could light the world up... almost to priceless to share.

This isn't entirely possible all the time mate. I live in a thrid world country and in a city where such farms , ponds or rivers are pretty much non existent. Some times there Is literally nothing to do but to just sit back in front of the tv.

This is goals af for me. My dad was there when I caught my first fish. I was probably this kid's age. And I used a toy fishing pole too. My fish wasn't as big as his though. It was a baby bluegill.

I remember being that young, with my amazing Spider-Man fishing rod, happy to be out on the canoe. I then caught a 15 inch trout and was so happy. Me and my dad then went out every year.
