- This is a walking video shot in 4K around Douglas in Isle of Man.
Douglas (Manx: Doolish, pronounced [ˈdðuːlʲəʃ]) is the capital and largest town[a] of the Isle of Man, with a population of 26,677 (2021). It is located at the mouth of the River Douglas, and on a sweeping bay of two miles (three kilometres). The River Douglas forms part of the town's harbour and main commercial port.
Douglas was a small settlement until it grew rapidly as a result of links with the English port of Liverpool in the 18th century. Further population growth came in the following century, resulting during the 1860s in a staged transfer of the High Courts, the Lieutenant Governor's residence, and finally the seat of the legislature, Tynwald, to Douglas[2] from the ancient capital, Castletown.
The town is the Island's main hub for business, finance, legal services, shipping, transport, shopping, and entertainment. The annual Isle of Man TT motorcycle races start and finish in Douglas. (Source: Wikipedia)

Douglas is now officially a city.
It was granted city status by the Queen as part of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The area walked through used to be the Island’s den of iniquity. Lots of great pubs, now sadly closed. Really different now with most people getting sloshed at home and getting a takeaway. The pubs used to be full of characters and the humour was unbeatable. Remember laughing so much that my belly ached.

It sort of is but not entirely. If you want to travel there and need a visa then you need a UK visa.
It's a British dependent territory, so it's outside the UK but falls under the British crown (on the Isle of Man, the British monarch is officially termed as the Lord of Mann).
UK & Irish citizens, if economically self sufficient, have automatic right of residence on the island with no visa or passport needed (Common Travel Area), but employment rights of "come overs" can be limited: there is a sponsorship/permit régime in place.
Other British dependencies include the Channel Islands, Gibraltar, and many other islands and territories dotted all over the world.

It’s not to bad apart from all the pubs and screaming drunks that are out. I don’t drink and yet I live with about 5 drinking establishments nearby so it’s loud. It can be peaceful which is a nice thing.
The isle of man will be renamed the isle of person to be more in line with wokeness and equality.
