The NP Exam is known for its challenging nature, and it can be really tough to deal with failing after putting in so much effort into your studies. It’s completely normal to feel frustrated. But right now I don’t think I only feel frustrated I also feel like giving up which isn’t my thing. 😞😞
@@CelineJonas Hey, Man remember, you’ve got this!!! Just keep your focus and keep pushing forward. Success will come when the time is right. I truly admire your determination to pursue a rewarding career-it's never too late to follow your passion.
Honestly, some people have a natural talent for test-taking, while others might struggle despite their hard work. I didn’t study extensively but managed to pass, while I know many who dedicated countless hours and didn’t achieve the same outcome. The key is to stay calm and confident during the exam. Creating personal mnemonics and phrases, just like Mr. Tony always advises, can really enhance retention. I developed unique sayings that clicked with me to help remember the material.
@@CelineJonas It’s inspiring to see you taking charge of your future! I have a 42-year-old in my current study group with Mr. Tony, and it just proves that it’s never too late to chase your dreams.
Currently about to apply for nursing school, and my longer term goal is to get my MSN. I had no idea NP Fellowship was a thing, so thank you for mentioning that in the video. I have the means to take that pay cut, and will absolutely be seeking a fellowship after graduation. I know it is still quite a ways out, but after watching several of your videos along with many other youtubers videos, I am even more ready and excited for the journey.
Thank you for your explanation. I am starting NP program in one month, and it is great to know that there is a fellowship for one year for NP. Because, my friend who is doing medical school is having 2 years of practice, and then 2 years of residency. I was thinking if something like residency exist for NP, and you clear everything. :))
I did a video like this too and your was so insightful!! I love ur channel!! And I agree so much with tons of the things u mentioned and never even thought of some of these issues till now 🤷♀️ thanks friend!! ~Amanda
Hi! Thank you for the video! I’m getting ready to start NP school and I also live in MI. Just wondering, what organizations do you know of that offer the Fellowships? Thanks!
Degree mills popping up everywhere isn't helping the market too due to oversaturation (supply far outweighs demand). There are some programs that don't even require previous nursing experience. The future for NP career is a bit dim if you ask me.
I completely agree. Schools are in it for the guaranteed federal loan money that students will be paying back for 10 years. Finding your own preceptors is a load of bull. NO MED STUDENT ever had to find their own clinical practicums unless it was an "away rotation" which is optional, yet the culture is we are both "Providers" and NP's want same privileges pretty much as MD's without even half the education. NP education on a national level is a sad state of affairs, indeed. We are NOT prepared. EVERY preceptor that I have had looks up what to do on the internet after they leave the pt exam room (Family practice, specialty clinic, hospital based program-varying levels of experience, NONE of them was as confident as I thought they should be). It is a puppy-mill environment as far as NP schools go-it waters down our profession and makes NP's not as respected as the title once implied-in my own opinion.
Is the pay less or scope of practice different If you become a Emergency NP after doing a FNP program and then a emergency fellowship vs Doing a Emergency NP program and then working in the ER as a NP? thanks
Pay is the same. But fellowship gives you better experience and will make you more competitive for ER jobs. Companies usually want ER NP experience and a fellowship will give you that
If you get your NP from a specific state such as Texas, are you able to just hop over to another state to do their NP fellowship ? Does it matter where you got your NP license / masters?
Thank you so much for all these information. I have a question , I am a foreign medical graduate and I am interested in being a FNP since I am old graduate and hard to get residency in the USA. Do you know any shorter pathway for IMG to be a RN , then FNP?
Hello that depends in which state you live. In florida foreign medical doctors can do RN-MSN-NP IN 2,5 years and then do NCLEX (that mean u save 4 years school)
@@marisaperez1318 Yeah that's not true. Physicians are more trained and have more expertise to handle higher acuity cases. NPs on the hand... can't say the same. NP school is an absolute joke.
Thanks so much for this wonderful video, the NP exam has been so difficult for me… but it seems so easy with your video and explanations.

Sometimes, it really doesn’t matter how hard you study; you also need to pray to God for success.
Thank you for just diving into it, automatically sets you apart from 95% of other homemade NP videos.

Love your calmness and transparency.

2 years of practice and 2 years of residency? That doesn't sound like a US medical school

Great video. Thank you for the in-depth perspective.
I appreciate you explaining this all. Thank you.
Yes the insurance companies are not recognizing FNP full practice authority.
Wowww i think im gonna cry im about to start my fnp in one week and now i watched this video
Change to acute care, you can still work specialty clinic if you don’t have any to be in the hospital.
Excellent Video
Thank you for this

Look into schools near you!
You mean to tell me I can’t get 120$ an hour as a PMHNP?
I was in PMHNP but now thinking about gerontology nurse practitioner because I don’t wanna work with kids. ???? And hard
To find np for mental health.
In my understanding as a PMHNP you will usually see adults. Unless you are working in child and adolescent psych.
Do you wish you did acute care? A lot people who did family NP said they wish they did Acute care. Please and thank you.

It doesn't matter what state you go to school. You just need to be licensed in the state you'll be doing the fellowship

Not sure why the heck anyone would want to waste money becoming an NP when you can earn just as much as an RN.
Depends. In general NPs make more than RNs. Current RN travel rates are an exception. Not sure how long that'll last though

When an NP is doing the exact job and seeing same pt volume and acuity as physician coworker that makes at least double that it's not
