Sweet video! The only other thing I’d have added is that at second sky 2021 he actually closes Blossom by playing the “you’d fit perfectly to me…” melody from Fresh Static Snow, which was basically a more subtle version of the “I found her!” that he did the following year.
I'm so glad someone made a video on this song. One of the most hauntingly beautiful songs in his entire discography. The "you'd fit perfectly to me and we'd end our loneliness line" is so powerful and has stuck with me for years. and then to hear the callback to that melody in second sky 2022 was just sheer triumph.
Just saw Porter last night in my cityyyy this track brought back so many memories T__T even though he only played that dirty part for a couple of seconds it was sooo satisfying. Thanks for the lore on this track
The live edit of this song is still my favorite part of the worlds live set, i'm so thankful to have been able to experience worlds live, it's the best live show ive ever seen.
Initially I loved Fresh Static Snow because of the Justice/Ed Banger style ripping bass and then I heard the live edit in 2015 and now I know the story behind it and how he met his perfect partner, it’s a really wholesome but simple story ♥️
cool history on electronic music artists that I love isn't something I thought I'd see on youtube, but I'm so glad you're making these videos! I hope this channel takes off
When I went to the Worlds concert, I went in pretty blank, not really knowing what was waiting for me (I knew him only from before Worlds (when's Electro House coming back?)). When Fresh Static Snow dropped, he ripped my heart out and he is still one of my favourite artists. It was so awesome to be able to experience that without obsessing about the artist beforehand (like I usually do now). I did not know the story behind it, so thanks!
I love that someone made this video, and I'm sure more time could be spent analyzing Fresh Static Snow (FFS) even deeper. The Second Sky 2019 Version of FSS (which people memed as Worlds 2 Confirmed) is actually Porters version of a Mashup/Transition that he used to do in his DJ sets between FSS & Outer Space (Lycii & Declan James Remix), seen here: th-cam.com/video/jjWQqyGswJg/w-d-xo.html&si=2Xy7dxannlROhf2X I'm sure a lot more people know this by now, but I wanted to post this comment here in case anyone else isn't aware yet. That transition is one of my favorites of all time, and experiencing it live was pure bliss. Hopefully I get to experience the Second Sky version someday.
Great video! These songs have always been some of my favorites by him. It makes me sad I’ll likely never get to see fresh static snow played live as I just discovered him right towards the end of the worlds era.
I discovered Fresh Static Snow at a very low time in my life. Yes the meaning of the song is very sad, but it made me realize that I'm not the only one who feels this way. Life has its highs and lows. I now live life for the highs and try to remember that the lows will pass.
If I may offer a bit of potential insight that might allow you to put that into an even more optimistic perspective; Everything we experience as humans, is related to activity in the mind (or soul, depending on your perspective) but we are somehow awarded in life a conscience, that allows freedom of thought, expression( and experience. And all of those events are thanks to our senses, which exist thanks to our nervous system. We see, feel, hear, smell etc etc. But the single point of significance in us having any sensation at all is due to our ability to notice contrasting stimuli. We notice pleasure due to how different is feels compared to pain. And likewise, we experience happiness and content, due to how it contrasts with the low depression memories we have. Its all relative to the polar opposites of our experience. You cannot have joy and happiness your entire life, or it would be meaningless, cause you wouldnt be able to even recognize why its so special to feel happy. Just though for food. 🤷♂️
The song about somebody not able to meet their love partner just foreshadowed his later love life, which is pretty contradicting. Heck I bet ya ass if I make a song about me finding the one I'll just foreshadowing myself not still getting bitches lol. And also those two reindeer head dudes in the live visuals looks cool tho, it's like they have their own story to tell other besides the lyrics.
Likely a hot take, but I feel that, by saying 'i found her' Porter has kind of missed the point of his own song. He's found someone that makes him happy, and of course I wish him and Riku all the best, but statistically it is a lot more likely his best partner is still out there. He will never know, none of us ever will, and that melancholy is at the heart of this track. That said, of course our partner is the most amazing person to us, so it's a very cute thing to say. (^-^ )
Hello, can you put the automatically generated subtitles on this video please, I would like to understand what you are saying and well I speak more Spanish than English
Im sorry....im... 23 seconds in and did i just hear your gonna look at this song off porters DEBUT................ -_-......Please tell me ANY researxh was done /lh lol im still giving it a chance:)
Am I the only one that only REALLY likes his very first EP Spitfire, and lost more and more interest in his music as it become more and more cute and less and less raw and heavy?
"i found her" that hit so hard omg
he sounded so happy when he said that its genuinely heartwarming 😭

Ah yes, just went back to that and saw he played it, definitely a subtle thing I should have added
That was second sky 2022 but yeah
I like how the video is exactly as long as the original song
I literally just checked, and wow, it totally is! I did not intend on that at all!
@@cultfigureclub1
I already noticed it by looking the timestamp lol.

also P.S. this channel is amazing man, please keep it up.
I agree, its always stuck in my head, Porter has really made truly great music
I firmly believe that Fresh Static Snow is his greatest masterpiece
Just saw Porter last night in my cityyyy this track brought back so many memories T__T even though he only played that dirty part for a couple of seconds it was sooo satisfying. Thanks for the lore on this track
they fit perfectly and ended their loneliness, the curse melted away

Oh my gosh hahaha I just discovered your channel and hour ago I'm so excited to see a new vid already
...*an
This video was just as soothing and satisfying as the songs themselves
Watching this right after they got married is something else

Porter has an uncanny ability to do that to people
Man I'm so excited to see this kind of content, keep it up man, always keeping an eye out for your uploads

You do realize he still sometimes plays Worlds songs in the Nurture tour?
@@milkywaydotmoe That’s true
😭😭 so inspiring
GREAT VIDEO , been on the search for that Live version is static snow for Yearssssss since UME 201*
Aw that's so heartwarming😇
Great video! (:

waaaaa this is amazing!
thank you so much for that video!!
wooow , that was beautiful and seems accurate.
Glad you think so, thank you!
Porter and Rika are married now!!! Very good video also!
I’m watching this on the day Porter announced he and Rika got married🥹
IKR, I'm so happy for them! My favourite artist getting married!
Awesome video, I didn't listen to porter much before Blossom so I found this super interesting!
Brilliant channel! Definitely gonna keep watching your videos!!
Really excited you are gonna keep watching! Comments like this make my day!
Absolutely love this video! Thank you for your hard work. Keep it up. You now have a fan.
Wow.
Good for Porter. That shit's not meant to happen to everyone. At least not to me.
Porter goes more in depth about FSS and Blossom in the interview he did with Fantano around the time Nurture came out, it's a real good watch
He did, it is a really good watch, probably my favourite interview with Porter
The song about somebody not able to meet their love partner just foreshadowed his later love life, which is pretty contradicting. Heck I bet ya ass if I make a song about me finding the one I'll just foreshadowing myself not still getting bitches lol.

Porter got the good ending :)
Isn't the live version of Fresh Static Snow regarded as the first midtempo track?
I mean, it really depends what you mean by midtempo. If you mean its the first track in the style that Rezz, 1788-L pursued, then most likely, yeah
How he and a band did Fresh Static Snow in the smile tour?
Likely a hot take, but I feel that, by saying 'i found her' Porter has kind of missed the point of his own song. Great vid, great info, lol,
Don't know if that was a slight misunderstand,
But if ya say his name , ya gonna say it with honourrrrr 🎶 lol
he said debut ALBUM, Worlds is his debut album, the work earlier than that are just EPs or singles
f
Am I the only one that only REALLY likes his very first EP Spitfire, and lost more and more interest in his music as it become more and more cute and less and less raw and heavy?
I remember Anthony Fantano had a similar opinion in his Worlds review, so no, ur not the only one
Honestly, that's a fair opinion. Worlds is one of my favourite albums of all time, but I do miss more of heavy bass-y stuff.
Sure but he found his own sound. You can get spitfire sounds from 80% of edm
Lmao weebs
