I can never get enough of this video. It's so timeless. One of my all-time favorite videos and songs of the 1980's. The song itself is timeless. It was Siouxsie that got the Gothic look started with her hallmark make-up and attire. The "Queen of Punk" rules to this day. NO ONE can ever match Siouxsie - or Siouxsie and the Banshees in style. What crap is out there today? The 70's and 80's were musically diverse. The kids today too bad missed it!
I was about 12 when I first saw Siouxsie on TV and witnessed a new and strange image of what a woman could be...and I was instantly in love with everything about her, the strong voice and strong sensual image and the brilliance of the music just projected confidence and power...just amazing...all these years later, she's still the embodiment of the my ideal woman...
The best Banshees' song, without a doubt, and certainly one of the best songs of the 1980s, and maybe one of the best songs about the transformative power of drugs
"skating bullets on angel dust, in a dead sea of flowing mercury" purely insane genius. the poetry that flowed from her lips, ran straight down my spine into the very core being that brought me back to nature.
This song was found on accident, and I fell in love so so so much. Its so BEAUTIFUL. Makes the tears want to flow. Siouxie has such a strong, opinionated voice. I love her. Yeah, its a shame they shortened it though...
They put dazzle glittering shivers through my spine(kitchma)last 20 years...(o.k.-15 years, since I was a teen...)I,m surprized that young people are still hearing them...Here,on this island I think with me and one of my friend-that,s all of the people who ever hear of this great band.Ghotic is dead, and I,m too old to still dress in black and hount graweyard with music on my ears...
i remember all to well 1984 the year this gem came out the neighbors thought the early punk siouxsie was bad they heard this and moved. I used to blast hong kong garden. And love in void. Happy house... They thought i was one crazy child. Where did the years go?
Lets see 1984 the year this song came out what a shock to us young kids back then. the Smiths, echo and the bunny men cure and Gene loves Jezabel.. jesus and mary chain, LOVE THEM ALL & and miss them....
No Robert Smith recorded this before he left but didnt appear in the video J Carruthers took over mid tour in 1984 in June sometime Tinderbox and Through the Looking Glass was J Carruthers work
why can I not find a video that shows the end of this song? a great, brilliant song, and you cannot hear the end, which shows you the true brillance of the song. any help?
Siouxsie rocks - way ahead of her time - her music could pass for new music -- this is not as good as her earlier work - check out her "The Scream" from 1978 - that is one of my favorite records of all time - & just recently discovered it!!!!!!!!!!
I love how the video shows everyone EXCEPT Robert Smith of the cure who was the main guitarist/keyboardist on this album. Was it because of the contract stipulations?
The arrangement of this song is beautiful, it would actually make a fitting theme song for a James Bond film. @truxers11 I am a fan of all those women you tried to dismiss, and I am more than capable of appreciating the brilliance of SATB. Stop being such a hipster.
Hey! I'm a "kid who missed it" but I'm 18 and ADORE Siouxie, Toyah, The Cure and other such beauts. I hate modern music, and its only good when I'm in clubs, drunk and dancing, and even then, I prefer going to Reflex (an 80's club) and Flares (a 70's club)
@Armydicked Well, it wasn't her fault she's been born into 'this'. At least she can surround herself with lovely timeless things of value. Unfortunately most of the music is only being recycled (or how they prefer to call it, reinvented), but much like fast food, it burns through your system quickly and ends in the toilet never to be thought of again. Tell your friend's 14 year old she's lucky not to be fascinated by all the shiny packaging they try to sell her :)
So, back in the day, the UK mags ripped on Siouxsie for being so "glam". Forget the fact that she struck out on her own, this band listened to no one and they were light-years ahead of everyone else. Yes, Madonna who? Gaga what? Everyone had someone come before them, but SATB truly were their own creation.
Listening to the Banshees, Kate Bush, Blondie.... makes me so, so sad. Sad cause I can't avoid being shouted at from all sides by talentless bastards that have their 'talent' cut, sewn together, painted and glittered by the mass music factories. That's the 'artists' we have today. I WANT TO GO BACK!
@brikered You want Pathetic---a friend's 14yr old daughter had a birthday coming up and I told her I'll buy you any CD you want (which really shows my age---WHO BUYS MUSIC TODAY?). She asked an old fart like me if I ever heard of Simon & Garfunkle or the Doors? She said 'I hate the music today; I was BORN WITH AND OLD SOUL?!!! I had to fight back tears. "Everything 'fresh and exciting' today is Thousands of years old" She said. My past is her future? She's living a borrowed Life!!!

A great song.... that's not just Rockmusic, it's Art. And the intro is wonderful.

My favourite of all time. Siouxsie! I bought this album when I should have been studying for my 3rd year exams in 1984.
She is one of a kind. Simply, utterly, lovely. She is one of the few people in this world or any other in whose midst I would gush.
one of my favorite tracksof the banshees!-so haunting-siouxsie at her best!! wht a dark diva!!
"skating bullets on angel dust, in a dead sea of flowing mercury" purely insane genius. the poetry that flowed from her lips, ran straight down my spine into the very core being that brought me back to nature.
Just a perfect song...so well singed and perfomed. Thx for posting it!
Drummer & Lead guitar play with passion. Love this video!

This song is perfection. Thanks for posting!
There will never be music made like this anymore. I miss this kind of stuff.
Love this and the remix.
Siouxsie one of music's most talented women, up there with Kate Bush, Toyah, Tori Amos and so many others.
one of my favorite old school songs
Sin duda entra en mi catálogo de canciones favoritas.
Smashing, very nice movement of the body, in perfection and in harmony, she'd me. The best!
Oh yeah, I can remember dancing like Siouxsie at the club to "Dazzle". Thought we were so cool and alternative.

Siouxsie's transformation from punk rock yelper to this is pretty incredible.
You have great musical taste. Never apologize.
i remember all to well 1984 the year this gem came out

@KeysToMyKarma I was on a train yesterday, thought of those lyrics while looking onto the Hudson River, and was like "wow, a REAL sea of mercury!"
Dazzle - it's a glittering prize!

under your heavy index and thumb..."
Brilliant!
i think my face just melted.
Lets see 1984 the year this song came out what a shock
to us young kids back then. the Smiths, echo and the bunny men

@truxers11 I wish I could add... but you pretty much hit the nail right on the head!
i agree, and with dear prudence
Truxers11 is spot-on. New Age/New Era music sux a hard one. Give me Banshees anyday.
There should be a button for favorite among favorites, there should be a six star rating. Just for this, I need more options.
No Robert Smith recorded this before he left but didnt appear in the video J Carruthers took over mid tour in 1984 in June sometime Tinderbox and Through the Looking Glass was J Carruthers work
Siouxsie is the ultimate OG Gangster
fucking beautiful...
masterpiece T-T
why can I not find a video that shows the end of this song? a great, brilliant song, and you cannot hear the end, which shows you the true brillance of the song. any help?
I agree..
a lot of people didn't know this but Robert Smith of the Cure did all the guitar work on this album.
Sioux Post-punk queen
Siouxsie rocks - way ahead of her time - her music could pass for new music -- this is not as good as her earlier work - check out her "The Scream" from 1978 - that is one of my favorite records of all time - & just recently discovered it!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic song, fantastic band. If only she had a nose ;)
My fav Banshees song used to be kiss them For me... Until i heard this. I'm speexhless...
The arrangement of this song is beautiful, it would actually make a fitting theme song for a James Bond film.
@truxers11 I am a fan of all those women you tried to dismiss, and I am more than capable of appreciating the brilliance of SATB. Stop being such a hipster.
@rogerinkart, siouxsie does NOT need a nose!

I wish Robert Smith was in this video since it's his guitar workin this song.
aa
Siouxsie one of the only female vocalist I really like, and the list isn't real big.
whyn the f can you not find the end of the song here?
Before Gwen Stefani's "Rich Girl," there was "Dazzle"!
Fantastic song, too bad they shortened it down so much in this video, though... all because of "the MTV friendly format", I guess, hehe.
I would totally jack you for that "T".
@Loobs666 Um, where's the Islamic imagery?
