The tech in cars these days is incredible. My parents have never owned a modern up to date car with most modern and technically advanced being a Mk3 Ford Mondeo diesel and has the basic Aux port, electronic adjustable seat height for the front two seats, cruise control and parking sensors but then when I see vids like this it's just like whoa. That in-built rear tablet is pretty neat and the adaptive cruise control is brilliant one thing dad hates about cruise control is that if you're going along a dual carriageway you're bound to come across someone going slower than you in the fast lane and he has to brake then resume the cruise control but to be able just to rely on the car to brake for you and match the speed of the car in front is pretty cool. I do wonder though with all the safety features is it just making car drivers lazy in a way and causing them more to rely on the cars technology than themselves? Obviously it's not made for purposely driving with no hands on the wheel but you're bound to get some drivers just thinking they can and that the car will do the job for them and then if they were to ever drive an older car again with out lane management would they still be able to drive safely without the technology?
Now I m gonna fall in love with this car. Truly outstanding. Class meets the luxury and the technology. I specially like the gesture control while accepting a call or taking the volume up. And the interior mood lights and last but not the list the KEY.. Truly cool man..
RETROGRADE _ Ofcourse it diddn't. Looks how it's stuttering and how he have to swipe multiple times for it to react. Imagine the day your key doesn't work because you forgot to charge it.......
This cars technology is insane!! BMW have done it and thrashed the S class and other flagship luxury sedans, the interior and exterior are much better than before too imo.

I have seen a couple of videos about this new BMW now, and I struggle to understand why almost in every video, the adaptive cruise control and lane assist are highlighted as much as they are. I mean come on, my 2013 Audi A3 got this in a safety package for ~ 1300€. If THAT is so noteworthy about this new 7 series, it only tells me that there is no real innovation at all, besides a huge key with a lagging interface.
There is enough hardware to be able to drive whole car from key like James Bond. Only software mod is needed. If key is connected to car by bluetooth we could even use smartphone or smartwatch! *Future is now!*

Just drove in one of these, my first ever blast on the Autobahn, wow it was the diesel too. It was a test version so had a few quirks (noisy mirrors) but wow those lights, amazing and it was pretty peppy for a 3L diesel. Will also post the auto park feature too. We went on a little trip to Dresden. Love to drive in the gas version - you guys and your bloody diesels :)

Its crazy, the only thing that never dies on BMWs is the turn signal bulbs. Even on 20+ old BMWs the signal bulbs are kept in brand new factory condition!

I'm in Uruguay, you don't see this kind of cars on the streets. You don't even see them in car dealers. And if there is a chance of getting one of those in our country it will cost easily 10 times the original cost. It sucks! A 2015 or 2016 Mustang costs 70 thousand dollars here!!!

(And that you probably don't even know about) Like reading street signs and responding accordingly. But I'm not going to argue with you, you think a model s is more advanced than a 7 series, a car that the tesla has borrowed countless technologies from to begin with. I'm not saying the tesla isn't a great car. It's a statement for what the future of automotive propulsion will be, but it's not more advanced than the 7 series. By the way, BMW is ironically one of the foremost manufacturers in the realm of electric cars and they're actually doing quite well for a company that's not built exclusively on the idea of electric cars like tesla. I totally understand you choosing the tesla over the 7, but it depends on what you want. And alot of people will have your options and still end up choosing the 7 series.
Well, I'll be getting one of these looooong in the future when the price has declined. Currently looking to get a 2006-2007 model. Not as advanced in technology as this car, but very very advanced for the time period... basically up to speed with an average 2013 car.

To actual specified motorcade I'd absolutely consider adding the new 7 Series BMW bec this & Panamera Exclusive Series are market benchmarks.

I drove one today at work, that parking remote thing so cool. but I can't really see any point to it. It takes too long to set up, by the time you use it you could have sat in the car and moved it normally.

lmao, you must be an expert in analysing statstics, I bet you have never driven a BMW. The head to head battle is between Mercedes and BMW. Audi wants to participate and VW is the standard, a good car for a good price, thats why it is so famous in Germany (but with a boring design in my opinion). Forget your shitty Volvo or any other non german car. In the end it's a matter of taste. The main thing is that it is german engineered.

+Tom Forrest - I imagine it's aimed more towards middle-aged, business class type folk who do a lot of motorway miles. I doubt there'll be too many people out there that wouldn't appreciate those features on the motorways, or in busy city traffic.

+Samuel Bharksuwan Tesla is not more advanced. There are ALOT of things this car can do that the tesla can't. Tesla just has an electric motor, that's basically it. You can get the active hydrid 7 if you're really into that kinda thing.

+jamviator ability to turn things on and off with a tablet, lane keeping, a bad attempt to keep it in the lane when the road is curved, a remote that reminds me of an android phone where lots of info but little meanings, finger gestures with just 3 commands that barely work reliably. All these are good features but not a break through or amazing. Reading and forming opinion about a tesla is like trying to taste a fine wine by reading about it. This BMW and a tesla and the MB S class were on my list of cars to buy for the last 3 months and I have seen them all, and now I am proud owner of a Tesla and I must say, it reminds me of when the first iPhone came out, it redefined smart phones. Tesla is the first iPhone of cars. Why do you think the Koenig Segg owner bought one 6-7years ago. BMW knows it and it's trying to compete, hence a rumor about series 9
s b The 9 series is not being made because of tesla. Trust me on that one. It's not going to be a regular commuter vehicle like the model s. It's more like a Rolls Royce Ghost replacement. The difference in quality will be astronomical as it is between this 7 series and the model s.
There are alot of other features that you haven't mentioned. (And that you probably don't even know about) Like reading street signs and responding accordingly.
But I'm not going to argue with you, you think a model s is more advanced than a 7 series, a car that the tesla has borrowed countless technologies from to begin with.
I'm not saying the tesla isn't a great car. It's a statement for what the future of automotive propulsion will be, but it's not more advanced than the 7 series. By the way, BMW is ironically one of the foremost manufacturers in the realm of electric cars and they're actually doing quite well for a company that's not built exclusively on the idea of electric cars like tesla.
I totally understand you choosing the tesla over the 7, but it depends on what you want. And alot of people will have your options and still end up choosing the 7 series.
But what happens if the key hob runs out of charge? Will the lock unlock still work?

Well, I'll be getting one of these looooong in the future when the price has declined. Currently looking to get a 2006-2007 model. Not as advanced in technology as this car, but very very advanced for the time period... basically up to speed with an average 2013 car.
