After the Jingle event you can exchange presents with your villagers using the toys from Nook's. They just gift you back a random toy, but it's cute anyway.
I did this for the first time too! I ended up wearing the Holiday Santa dress from Able Sister’s and all the villagers commented that I looked like Santa while I delivered their gifts! It was so cute.
I opened my switch a few days before Christmas, so my island was pretty basic. I got stockings to hang up, and on Christmas day, a picture of Jingle popped out of them. I wasn't offered the chance to make paper and distribute gifts, probably because I was at the get sticks and make flimsy tools stage! I exchanged gifts with my 2 villagers, though.

I just started playing this game about 2 months and I am enjoying it. I did get to participate in Toy Day. Since I knew it was coming, I order my gifts for everyone ahead of time. I truly enjoyed myself! Looking forward to more adventures!!
I play Animal Crossing NH for two years now and this year was also the first time Toy day for me. I wished we could keep the Christmas present bag and the garland with small socks etc I also would love to own. Too baddd... 😁🎁
