Thank You a lot.I was looking for this information since I bought my 13000Watts generator last August. The generator manual didn't explain the difference among the plugs. Now I know how to use them and how much load to put on them. Thanks a lot.
Hello my buddy. Great explanation on the different plugs types. It’s good to know what your going to use the generator for, so you won’t have to be buying different plugs adapters later on. 👍thanks Galvin. Hope you had a great New Year 🎉. Keep up the good work my friend.
Gavin, I've been following your channel for a little over a year and you've been a great help and have always responded to my questions. I ust want to say thanks a lot for all the info that helped me to decide on a home backup generator...I decided on the Duromax 9000, I can't wait to get it. Again, thanks.
Great explanation. One plug that confuses people sometimes when buying cords and adapters is the L5-30P and the L6-30P. They look pretty much identical but one has a ever so slightly wider plug hard to notice. I purchased a L6-30P to 20 amp by mistake. I thought I could snip a little off the lead to fit and it fit fine but the neutral and grounds were swapped internally due to it being a 240v plug.
I am helping my son buy and install a back up generator in his new home. Along with a lot of your other videos, this one is full of great information. Thank you 😊
I never noticed the diff between the 15 and 20 amp plug. I checked my Wen df 250i and it indeed does have the 20 amp receptacles. My Sportsman 1000i on has a 15. Thanks for that clarification.
Question: When a typical portable generator comes with two outlets "rated 20 amps" (like gens shown on table by wall), is that 20 amps from both outlets combined or can 20amps be drawn from each at the same time (assuming gen wattage size accommodates)?
I have a question with that 3rd generac generator 30amp 120 volt outlet, can I use that in combination with an interlock to power only my 120 volt appliances. I don’t have a transfer switch I only have a 30amp generator input box. Would that generac generator you showed in this video or the predator 5000 or predator 3500 inverter generator power both 120 legs of my breaker panel?

Agreed! They could easily be mistaken.
Nice video, Gavin. Thanks.
