- He did it once again fam, with a mid 1:36. We are in crazy times! He can stil improve this by quite a bit. I am currently in the lab trying to get back to that WR spot. Players like Simply, Puncayshun and Liam are also up there, although there is no doubt that Weegee is a step ahead at the moment, but this just makes us more motivated to get that practice in!

120 is keeping Suigi from 5/5 :D He had no 1:40 yet, no 1:39, 1:38 and 1:37 aswell. It just takes time, dont expect miracles
Suigi hasn't even gotten 139 yet. So I'm pretty sure he's not worried about 5/5 right now. Fr tho. He's well over 5 minutes behind record. So 5/5 is definitely not a priority right now
This was the third reaction video I have seen to this run and, I think, the best. The commentary provided a lot of interesting insights on the game play, and it was also vulnerable, giving a variety personal reactions and personal history relating to both the runner and the strategies he used. I very much appreciated it.

Weegees movement is just absolutely insane. Its a lot of small things he does rather then big things. He is also just becoming crazy consistent. Its very impressive.

Just binged all your reactions to M64 Speedrun fails and i have two thoughts: a) funny to see the different backgrounds people use for their split timers. B) i want more :D
All the fails are on Kobra's channel. Not sure if he's still posting though, so there might not be too much new stuff for Cheese to even react to if he wanted.
So I watched your reaction and Simply's. Both were great in their own ways. I just see more belief in yourself based on how you conduct yourself while watching this. To sum it up quickly, Simply knows he has to like reeeeealllly get back in the lab if he wants to seriously contend for this WR ever again like at all. You say you do too, and are, but it seems like it's much more realistic that if anyone else besides Weegee drops the time, it's going to be you when you implement your new strats and practice regiment. Especially like you said, while motivated. I really admire how you have the awareness in yourself to admit things like when you said "this is the first time I actually felt inferior to someone else in mario 64 120..'"(parapharasing) Which actually makes me, as a viewer, excited, because there really hasnt been fire under your ass in years, so Im very eager to see what you do with said 'fire under your ass'. You composure during the reaction is very reassuring to your fans. I think we all saw what you saw, a 's tier god like' run, but human especially at the end.. which all runs have an element of since we are human. It's beatable - and thats what makes speedrunning so thrilling to watch.
Cheese watching this video is something i think people need to watch. The way you speak about feeling the need to practice more get better and admit that you neglected is something more people need to learn. It is incredibly inspiring. Thank you.

I really hope Cheese means what he says here about practice and motivation. Not necessarily saying he doesn't, but it's the type of thing people tend to churn out when the spotlight is back on them ("I wasn't trying before but now I'm ackshually gonna put in the work real soon guys"). I'll never write Cheese out of snatching back the crown regardless.

Before watching this, I like how you used Weegee's still frame from Geenix's interview at PACE summer 2023. Also even crazier that at the time he had all the best splits. He shared Dark World with GreenSuigi until Slipperynip got the 2:40.95!

As a person with ADHD, learning things that I have been interested in are always easier to catch on to quickly. The biggest problems come when I am not or become bored with something.
I will, however, power out 200 hours into 2-3 weeks over in a skill based game I like, get really solid (maybe even good) at it, then never play it again.
In my opinion, ADHD makes most people a jack of all trades, master of only things they are interested in.... kind of, maybe.

At what point in a speedrun do you runners notice you are on pace for a world record and nerves start kicking in? I assume once the nerves kick in they gradually increase and by the last bowser throw your heart is going to explode.
Bismuth describes a lot of this in one of his recent videos; there’s a certain point 1/3 or 1/2 of the way through a world record run where the speedrunner has only cleared stars faster in maybe one or two runs out of the last several thousand runs the speedrunner has attempted. That video is for the 70-star run though, while this world record we’re watching here is obviously for all 120 stars.

It's weird hearing the US haircutting talk, I'm the UK and it wouldn't even cross my mind to walk into a salon for a haircut, not even sure they'd accept as they cut ladies hair. It's always barbers
I get good haircuts at SuperCuts. You just have to know how you like it cut and learn terminology so you can explain specifically how you like it. The problem is when you go to a chain and you don’t understand how to properly explain what you want. They just do specifically what you ask them to do. I enjoy it because I get to tip much more when the haircut is cheep. I do a 50% tip
After my first visit to a gentleman's club, you really can NEVER compare the outcome/experiance. I shampoo before hand, shave, just pay for straight cut currently for $60. I didn't get 1000 questions. I just said not shorter than an inch, maybe even longer maybe Bradley Cooper after he started taking NZT. The whole cut/style took 20 minutes, wouldve taken 45 anywhere else. They have knowledge + confidence and they know the haircut that works with your headsize, they're prefessionals. My wife screamed when I came home I think we had sex 4 times that day until the moose wore off. Mousse? LOL

To comment on Cheese's talk about the Gym, I worked at a Gym for 5 years and I only ever worked out there a couple of times. One of which was when one of my co-workers bothered me about working out with him until I finally relented to shut him up. We did a few things, then we went to the bench press. I thought I was just going to do the normal bench press. But no, my co-worker had other plans. He said I would be doing a "skull crusher". Fun name. Basically, rather than your elbows being at 90 degree angle to your body pressing the bar up and down on your chest, you have them parallel to your chest and curl the bar down towards your forehead and then back up. Didn't inspire much confidence in me, especially when he suggested I do 100 pounds. I'm a pretty thin guy (who obviously doesn't work out) and I was doubtful I could do it, but he insisted. He was spotting me (he had his hands under the bar, he's not a monster), and as I came down for the first rep, I knew it was too much and told him to get it off me. Now, I know he was just trying to be helpful and encourage me, but when he said "No, you can do it man!" I got angry and scared and I started yelling at him until he finally lifted the bar. I didn't yell at him anymore after that and we went to some less intensive stuff until I felt I'd done enough to excuse myself, and that was the last time I tried that. I know he had good intentions and I wasn't in any danger (the bar was never pressing down on my skull or anything; he was doing a good job of spotting me as best I can tell), but that experience did nothing to make me want to go to the gym ever again.

@@frouvoxes For the uninitiated, pop-offs tend to use plosives for effect, and if your mic is too soft, it will dampen them, and thus ruin the pop-off. If you're known for sounding a particular way, changing your mic settings is a terrible idea.

...It's almost like he spends a large portion of the video talking about how much Weegee practices and how he's now trying to do the same to catch up. Did you tune out the second he said that sum of best isn't everything? Yeah, it's a matter of skill, but it's only a measure of peak performance. Being consistent and patient enough to actually turn that into a record plays a huge role in a long category like this.
