That’s correct Calvin. Instead of sending money here blindly and having no control of how it’s spent, do yourself a favor, create a new saving account and save money monthly. This is huge for you once the time comes when your ready to have her join you in the states. It’s only a large amount if your looking at the total cost. Get your list like Calvin has given and know the process. It’s more time consuming and frustrating during the wait then anything else. Save your money so you can pay for the process. It’s really a broken up process where you need to pay here and there for certain things. Don’t let this be the reason you don’t have her join you, be prepared! I’ve also heard of a service where there are Filipinas that take on your case and walk the couple through the entire process. It’s done very professionally and in my opinion it’s the way to go. They even will meet you in Manila and attend your appointments with you.

@@jagaleo3141 hi Kevin, I’m assuming your asking me this question? If so, I can only give you my experiences in this matter. Frankly, it’s been a good 13 years since I used any dating site. I’ve picked up through watching different vloggers that there are a few different dating sites. I used only one, it was Filipino Cupid. I established a profile and was honest about myself. According to my wife, I wrote to much about myself and she became bored with my running on. So if I may suggest, keep your statements short and be precise. Give solid honest answers but don’t go on for to long. Your attempting to create an interest but not to come off as desperate. Now I’ve been told there are a few other sites you may want to look into and research them. Your looking for ones that have a picture and that you can establish online communication with. If you listen to Calvins posts he’s got a lot of solid rules to follow. In fact I’m kinda in agreeance that the dating sites can kinda screw you up if your not able to use it properly. I found it a vital tool to use in allowing me to weed out and narrow down a short list of girls I was interested in getting to know better while I was online. The ultimate key for you is to figure out when you will be traveling here and preparing yourself for that. example the saving of money. You have much more power if you don’t have a limited budget. If you’ve developed a relationship with someone you really like, it helps you prepare for where you will travel to. If you find someone, there’s ways to test her. It helps knowing someone here that can assist you with this. My wife has helped several people who thought they where in a good relationship with a Filipina. They would work with my wife who has a great ability of tracking and investigating others here. For example, finding out if the person has multiple Facebook accounts or other social media outlets that she may have. These are very telling and can make or break a relationship. My wife has exposed several girls as frauds that where lying about who they where. Your biggest concern is being taken advantage of by a con person that’s not truthful. That’s why I always suggest you are testing your girl how ever slight constantly and take great notes both on paper and mentally. She must pass all your test. Use due diligence always. Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns, I don’t mind giving my opinion. Thanks for asking, and good luck.

I never bought an engagement ring and never wore a wedding-ring, because I don't like such stuff. My Pinay wife occasionally wears a ring (a present by my mother, who didn't buy it either, she already owned it), but not the wedding-ring. There were such, but I never wore it and don't even know where it is. Travelling to my country cost exactly the economy-prize-ticket. We are both no big spenders, but prefer to think where we could both save money to better spend it on the house-renovation over there and later travelling to countries we currently don't have time to visit. I am satisfied with a comparably simple life and my wife is not a "luxury-lover" either despite being a university-graduate. She didn't marry me because of my money (which I never had so very much), but because of my personality. Some of her siblings have more money than I have.

Yeah, I purchased a pricey engagement ring for my then girlfriend she only cleaned it when 2-3 time's I asked her to. She did everything in that ring 24/7 unless her finger swelled. Eventually the diamond cracked and she insisted I don't replace it. She said it's just a waist of money to do so. I don't like or wear jewelry...not even a watch. That's when I realize she has the same outlook as me. I could've bought a much cheaper ring and she'd been just as happy. It's the idea of what it symbolizes and not it's value to her. She is from the province and thinks it's better to live off of your money than just have shiny thing's. She's my wife now.
