Russ Swift still does stunts to this day. I remember he went to the Philippines for the Russ Swift Stunt Show for the Manila International Auto Show. I’ve been a fan of him for 5 years now.

Used to see something similar on my estate most nights in the early 90s.

And Russ Swift is still doing this today. This was filmed near Middlesbrough as the Transporter Bridge can be seen.

Most cars back then got scrapped at about that age due to rust as they werent rustproofed they way they are today. Then again the sportier cars got thrashed and more than likely not maintained as they got older as well so could have been scrapped due to a knackered engine or gearbox etc as well. Still always find good Montegos on TH-cam etc for sale and others needing restored as well.

@@williamwoods8022 True. I had a 1990 Montego Turbo. It needed both rear arches cutting out and replacing due to rust in 1995. The rest of it was still good though until I sold it in 1996.

@@williamwoods8022 Oh the rot.... Rear arches, door bottoms, wing edges. BL/Austin/Rover didn't have the cash to start galvanising even the chasis back then.

I've had two MG Montego Turbos, I thought they were very cool. Way back then!

I had one too, it was rapid!

I had a 2.0L... Was still quick for its day. About 9s to 60. No power steering, no power locks: Didnt weigh much. Sadly was a rot box. Fond memories though.

More fun for Russ to drive a bigger Rover SD1 or 800 series like a maniac.

Clarkson tried it and he just kept crashing into cars until they were moved back far enough for him to successfully do it.
