  • The nationally acclaimed Ghanaian patriotic song "Yɛn Ara Asaase Ni", was written by Dr. Ephraim Amu in 1929 and is sung in the Ashanti language. Dr. Ephraim Kɔku Amu (13 September 1899 - 2 January 1995) was a Ghanaian composer, musicologist, and teacher.
#Ephraim Kɔku Amu was not only a highly accomplished musician, known for his extensive compositions and unique style in art music but also a proud #African nationalist. He held that embracing good elements from other cultures with universal values is acceptable, but it's crucial to maintain the best of our own. asem yi di ka

Aww I also attended Abetifi Presbyterian then boys school but I went there as a mixed school in 1997! We used to sang his songs in various schools for competitions and we normally win! No wonder! May his gentle soul rest in peace!❤

A very good narrative on the works of Dr. Ephraim Amu. It is so sad that such great men and women are not well-celebrated. Their life work should be part of our school curriculum at every level. Many thanks for sharing it. Any idea on where I can get a good biography of Dr. Amu and similar great men and women?

Please take a moment to review the video description as I've included the sources for this content. Many of these nationalists are relatively unknown or have received little attention, and this channel aims to change that narrative.

The only wise icon that stood boldly with his tradition and culture without Spot after Osagyefu Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

I believe there were others before him but definitely one of the best.
