He Defied Colonial Rule in Ghana
Nii Kwabena Bonnie III led a powerful movement that shook the foundations of colonial commerce and sparked the flames of independence for an entire nation. Meet the fearless Ghanaian chief who masterminded a historic boycott that forced European merchants to their knees and ignited the fight for Ghana's freedom.
Nii Kwabena Bonnie III also known as Kwamla Theodore Taylor was a Ghanaian traditional ruler in the Gold Coast now Ghana. He was the Osu Alata Mantsɛ, and the Oyokohene of Techiman. Nii Kwabena Bonnie was born on 26 January 1888. He was a businessman who imported and exported goods such as cocoa, palm kernels, piassava, and fabrics. He became a very successful merchant and established businesses in the colonial metropolis. He also became the first Gold Coaster to earn the British Royal Couple’s invitation to tour Buckingham Palace in 1925.

You're right. What we lack is visionary leadership. Nkrumah strongly believed in promoting made-in-Ghana products, which is why he established dozens of factories across the country. Unfortunately, many of these factories have been abandoned, while others have been repurposed for churches.

The MUSAMA CHURCH is a unique God-given heritage to Africa. The Black founded Church. The only church that proudly flaunts her African culture in unique obeisance to the Supremacy of Yahweh. The only Church with a King, Priest, and Prophet as the Head. The Church that brought spiritual illumination and emancipation to Ghana and Africa. No wonder the church is tightly intertwined with the history and development of Nkrumah's Ghana.

I appreciate Nana's effort and vision. Long live Nana. But this is a challenging message to Ghana as a nation. If all this could be achieved single handedly by a chief then what are we waiting for? Let's pick out these politicians with their empty noise and waste of our national resources and hand over the nation to the chiefs to rule. After all they have done it befote. They ruled alongside the British before this game of party politics began. Our Cedi then was as strong as to march the dollar one to one. Today this is where we stand. Let's give the chiefs a chance once more to revive the nation.

If our local chiefs unite and form a strong alliance focused on building and developing their communities, they will regain public support and transform the country. Our politicians have failed us.
