I will explain what not many tourists know when visiting Indonesia, basically Indonesia is surrounded by WATER, FIRE, FOG, MEADOW and FOREST.
I've visited Indonesia 3 times (2010, 2015 & 2018) and spent months, I will explain that the tourist attractions in Indonesia are really crazy, the level is higher than level "BEAUTIFUL". Because tourist spot in Indonesia "Super very mega complete".
I keep coming back to Indonesia because the trip is the most very complete, even the whole world is in this country. The only country that makes "REPTILE" as national animals is Indonesia.
Traveling to Indonesia is not just about a relaxing and exciting travel experience, it is much deeper and more than that. You can even feel disappointed, emotional, confused, sad, tired, give up, smile, laugh, afraid, goosebumps, satisfied and others at the same time.
Names of tourist attractions in Indonesia that are similar to the rest of the world:
1). JANJANG KOTO GADANG SUMATERA. (The Great Wall of China is in Indonesia).
2). MAHA VIHARA MAJAPAHIT. (Thai Sleeping Buddha is in Indonesia).

I even laughed when I saw the Eiffel Tower in France, Liberty USA, Big Ben UK, the Greek Colosseum, the Great Wall of China, the Egyptian Pyramids, the Singapore Lion Statue, Tower Pisa Italy, Indonesia in Indonesia and many others, all of which are in Indonesia. This is real not joke because there are really tourist attractions in Indonesia that are similar to other countries. Until my friends thought that I spent time in many countries, even though I only spent time in Indonesia visiting many tourist attractions in Indonesia (Too many tourist attractions in Indonesia, the numbers are really super crazy). 🤣
Going to Indonesia is actually a challenge, because there are so many places in the world in Indonesia (From Canada to New Zealand). Tourist attractions in Indonesia are in the very crazy category, even tourist attractions in my country are also in Indonesia. It's really crazy, all countries are in Indonesia. If you go to Indonesia just to relax then you will lose a lot, therefore explore and have adventures in Indonesia.
There are lots of various tourist attractions that can be visited in Indonesia, because not only in terms of infrastructure, but also Mother Nature, Culinary, Culture, Playgrounds and others so that when visiting Indonesia you will get the most complete travel package.

I am going in July for my birthday with a travel group and the cost is $2600 without flight but I am thinking this just too costly when others are traveling solo for less.

Why not? Sometimes your friends don’t have money or bring bad vibes. I went out the country with a friend and she pissed me off. I’d deff go alone next time
Solo travel can be an amazing experience for some people including myself. We’re all different and each to their own. Sometimes we have reasons for travelling alone and sometimes we just want to!
