Yes, I continue to like and yes I think it can climb angled walls. The only thing I don't like is that the cord will start getting tangled after a few days so you need to unplug it and untangle it. I usually do that when I empty the leaves from it.
It does scrub it but there are not any settings to change the strength or anything. You only have the setting to turn it on and have it run once a week, 2x a week, or every day.

Do you think adding some cotton balls inside the filter a good idea inorder to collect more debris?
hmm, mine does pick up quite a bit of debris with the stock filters, so I don't think anything else is needed.
How deep is your pool? Mine has a section that’s 8 ft deep, do you think this would run fine? The rest of the pool is 16 ft by 31 ft
