As modmin for a major axolotl group i want to applaud you on a fabulous video with some of the best and most accurate information I have seen. You have done remarkably well and I am certain she appreciates your care and attention to detail. If you are interested in a prepared food you can try Repashy grub pie or bittom scratcher. Repashy has many global distributors listed on their website. The only other suggestions i would have is ensure you stir the sand periodically to avoid build up of potentially toxic anaerobic gasses and consider the addition of some beautiful silk aquarium plants when budget allows. Again stellar video and stellar care. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for your advice! Axolotl Universe on FB has helped me tremendously during Aurora's treatment. I do have Repashy's grub pie. Will try to offer that to Aurora! Thank you again! :)
your content is top notch i fell in love with puffers but my lifestyle is somewhat busy which of the puffers do you find to be the least time consuming and most beginner friendly (peas aside)
Thank you very much! For puffers, besides peas, I'd say ones that are beginner friendly would be freshwater ambush predators such as dragon pufferfish (pao palembangensis) and hairy puffers (pao baileyi). Fair warning, ambush predators are not active fish. Their teeth don't grow as fast as other puffer species and they do not require snails in their diet. However, they should be fed food such as dubia roaches, earthworms, and crickets. All fish require a good amount of care & some time, especially all puffer species as they are scaless and are easily affected by diseases. Don't skip weekly waterchanges and make sure to cycle your tank first before getting your puffer. All the best and let us know what you're getting! :D
You got it so right on the pronunciation in Nahuatl with the word axolotl. And I have to really congratulate you because it's the first time in a video in English that they mention this information and even more said it in Nahuatl language. Here on Mexico [wrongly] is just named as "axolote" pronounced "ajolote" in Spanish thinking that the "x" on axolotl sounds the same like with the name "Mexico" [pronounced Mejico in Nahuatl] but this is not the case. So you are right! 😀 Listen to how they pronounce it and you will see that you are right: th-cam.com/video/65Q_jEssU5w/w-d-xo.html Excellent research!
I'm so happy! Thank you so much and for sharing the video. I was afraid I had butchered it but so happy that I haven't! Thank you for sharing the video as well. 😊
@@BeFishy No in fact, you made me do research as well to be sure 😅 I don't speak Nahuatl and among the population in Mexico there are many errors in the pronunciation of names and things in Nahuatl [and other native languages] that are quite common like axolotl. Thanks! 😊
@@BeFishy Thanks! and frankly sometimes when people ask me stuff that I don't know, it is really embarrassing, a lot of ignorance in me 😅 That's why when I have a question or I need to check something [like you made me do it this time], I feel it's important.
