  • Okay let's be realistic. I can imagine that this semi-recumbent crank forward Bike, might not be for everyone! But in all seriousness, I would encourage you to take a seat on one of the semi-recumbent crank forward DAY 6 style of Bicycles. And take it for a test ride, because It might surprise you... Who knows, you might find it worthy of your time... Bought mine used, and I love this Bike!!! 😍
This Crank Forward Bike is like nothing I have ever pedaled before! I believe its because of the rake and trail of this Bike. I love this Bike!!!!! It is difficult to find the right words to explain the ride! Because of the typical counterter-steer associated with a typical 2 Wheeled Bicycle! There is something about the ride that is awesome, and I will attempt to figure it out!
Okay so after spending a little time on this style of cruiser, I am blown away by how much it works my quads and glutes!!! Only if you are into this style of pedaling! If I am pedaling along with not much resistance, it is very easy to ride for longer periods of time!! But if you are wanting your quads and glutes to feel the burn 🔥 just gear it down and push the heavier gears ⚙. This Bike will give you a serious set of stair stepping Legs!!! 😎

Note: this is the old-school Dream, it has 21 speeds and I believe everything is Aluminum. With the exception of the Fork, I am thinking that as small as the welds are. Its made of steel. The newer version of the Dream is called the Dream 24.

My brother in law just bought a pair of these "Dream" bikes second-hand, 5 bills apiece, but they're in immaculate condition. I've been riding the red one (same bike as yours) and these are really well together bikes. You're right - it's like a luxury car after roughing it on my cheap Huffy mountain bike. (The Huffy is obviously a piece of dung, but I got it for $15.) But wow did it take a few miles to adjust to the seat, it's just so different from regular bikes. And to me it feel like a hamstring workout. I'm working out different muscles than the ones I use with the mountain bike.

5 bills apiece sounds great for that immaculate condition!! This longer wheel base with the relaxed head tube angle, is a different ride in the corners! Because it doesn't turn like a standard bicycle. Because on a normal bike you can lean into the corners pretty hard and the bike just starts turning. And this longer wheel base with the easy does it geometry, takes a little bit of getting used to. But its so smooth and comfortable!!! I am wanting to buy the Samson Bike now.

It looks like the Samson Bike can fit up to a 4" wide Tire, I will have to look at the Samson a little more!

This Bike has me wanting to buy the 2023 version, I already love the way it rides, because it is such a different feeling from a traditional Bike.

How fast does she go on the flats compared to a roadie or recumbent?

25-MPH full tilt, but she's pretty heavy! Like 38lbs. So I can't hold it very long!! But the ride is so comfortable!!! You can spend hours riding and not really know it. Its wonderful!!!!!

I pedaled up the biggest mountain I could find for a down hill speed run. And running in high gear, all I could get was 42-MPH. I have added a little skinnier set of Tires and she handles extremely well!!! But its a little different ride, because of that 51" wheel base 🤔

@@BUILTLIGHTWOUNDTIGHT 25 mph even for a little bit is pretty darn fast. Does your butt slide off the seat when going full till tilt on the flats? Even cruising speed sounds like it can go faster than a typical upright.

@@deltafour1212 butt stays planted due to the awesome backrest! And of course pulling hard on the handlebars, because my legs are so far forward. At cruising speeds I usually run in 14th, so the middle gear up front and high gear out back. I think its a little slower at the cruising speed, because you can't really tuck from the wind. Its like I'm pedaling around on a well broke-in lazy boy recliner 😈 So I can pedal it for days and not even feel any fatigue. Would be awesome if I could have a 700C version of it.

I pulled a 700X38C off one of my other bikes, and it bolts right up! But I would have to remove the rear bracket above the rear tire for the extra clearance needed. I think if I could buy the Samson version, I could pull off a 700c wheel set. Then I would think the overall cruising speed might come up a little bit, because of the weight savings. And less rolling resistance.
