  • Hi!
No music. No talking. Just work.
If you are taking your TOSHIBA U305 laptop apart be careful and wear an anti-static wrist band or use other anti-static device. If you need to change a LCD usually you don't have to take screen out of a laptop. You can leave it on a laptop and watch the last part of the video where I am taking LCD apart. If you need to change a keyboard, you don't have to take all bottom screws out. There are usually some marks, like a keyboard picture, on a case bottom. If you need to put a laptop back to work be aware of screws. They are different and you better remember or mark them somehow to insure that you will put them back in to a right place.
Some laptops I take apart first time, so don't be serious on my time and performance.
If something got broken - ooops, it's your fault.
Believe me, some parts in your laptop are already broken, you just don't see that.
    Have fun and good luck!!

Greetings, Regazzz! Congratulations on the video, lots of patience and cautious procedure!
I was able to repair an old Toshiba notebook (really old) thanks to your instructions!
By the date of the post a long time ago (May 26, 2012), I have no way of knowing if you are still active on your channel, even so my thanks and congratulations!
In my "poor" English, if there are errors, please disregard! We are in the largest rainforest in the world,

Some laptops getting back together, some not. I don't make videos how to put it back.
If you will be careful, make sure you will remember where screws go and where cables are coming from.

    Hi, thanks for comment!
Case bottom is like a base, everything goes in it. To re apply thermal paste you will need to remove pretty much everything out of it.

if you go to intel dot com site and search for GM965 (I believe this laptop has chis motherboard) you will find a list of compatible products. Funny part - they don't show t5250 as compatible, but I think t8300 or even t9500 will fit...

no i can hit backspace and it skips the fingerprint. i click f2 and it goes directly into the bios. i was able to only reset the supervisor password.

Thank lord I found your video, so much easier than reading words on ehow or watching some fast forwarded video... I spent 2 hours trying to figure out how to disassemble it but the 2 screws under the monitor were stubborn and my hand was in pain trying to unscrew it. Never thought of using a motor screw.
Question : I simply want to take the cover off the bottom so I can apply new thermal paste on cpu and blow clean it, do I have to take off everything like what you did in the video?

You can google some program that do that... or try to call Toshiba and they maybe will help you but they will need a serial number of a laptop, I guess...

Is it possible to replace / upgrade the processor on these? I just bought a U305 S7446 for cheap and all I can find is the specifics on the chipset. Even if I have to replace it with a pre-assembled CPU w/heatsink and all? The one I bought has a Core 2 Duo T5250 1.5GHz. Spec sheet says 667MHz FSB but when I look up the chipset it says 800 MHz... can't find the actual service manual anywhere or specs on this. What's the max CPU I can put in?

What you can do is take a paper and make like a copy of where screws coming from.

  • @cptstubing

In this situation I will probably delete everything from the hard drive and reinstall everything...
