    I used to build doors and drawers for a living. I wouldn't ever want to do hardware after install. Looks great guys!!

    I've had the problem with the screws being just a 1/4 inch too short, I just counter sunk the whole a bit in the inside of the cabinets. Looked fine.

    Great content! I was thinking that that my pliers with the thread cutting feature would help me if that was an issue. But no, your right, sometimes you need to go to Ace for those metric threads on the foreign cabinets pulls! Thanks for the heads up! Always helpful insight in your videos! Thank you for sharing your wisdom!

    Great video ..one question. What is the typical distance from the bottom of the door for the lower screw of the handle?

    Great job guys! Since you asked, what I would do differently is to put flat washers between the screw heads and the wood to make sure the heads don't dig in, and use loctite threadlocker to make sure they don't come loose. It's not a criticism because I respect the work you do and it's always well done, but you asked.

      Cool. What happens when your wife wants to change them with locktite 🤔😂

      @@StudPack Not a problem. Use loctite 242 blue. It holds well, but comes apart with hand tools.

      @@kenmore01 I used to know a guy that would eat the blue Loctite to freak people out! He said it tasted like candy! He also ate the food safe grease from the grain mill! Good memories!

      @@jmadig lol, I met a guy selling simple green door to door when it came out in the '90s. He drank it to show it was safe. Lately I used it in a coffee cup and it dissolved the glue holding the cup together. I have to wonder if that guy is still alive.

    Hi. Great video I learned a lot. But I do have a silly question, but how did you make your jig for the cabinets and drawers?

  • @jeffchandler5520
    @jeffchandler5520 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Cabinet pull screws are the same as the 8/32 on your electrical strippers. You can cut with the strippers, back out and they will screw right into the handles

    Great vid. Would it not have been worth the time to cut down the long bolts so they fit all the cabinets and drawers? I run into this sort of issue all the time and just grind down the long screws that come with the handle until they're the right length. Usually only takes a couple of seconds per screw. I work by myself so I assume it would go a lot quicker with one of you holding the screw in a wrench while the other cuts it.

    • @StudPack
      @StudPack  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've certainly cut screws before with the screw cutter on electrical strippers but these were metric plus there were 60 of them plus my grinder (you talking about a bench grinder or an angle grinder?) was at home 😖

    • @danf6070
      @danf6070 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StudPack yeah, I use my angle grinder. 60 screws does sound like a lot. I've only ever needed to do a handful at a time. Thanks for the quick reply btw!

      In my experience sometimes it doesn't cut cleanly or it compresses a thread and then you get a cross-threaded machine screw

    If you didn't have Jordan to drill while you're hold the template, just put some masking tape on the back to keep it from busting out.

    Labor time and plywood is money, a $50 adjustable all-metal jig just ordered. 60 holes thru a wood jig can wallow out the holes.
