I could listen to Walker and Doug review brands of packing tape and I would put it on as soon as I got the notification. Best pod on the whole LO network, hands down! Keep it up guys 👍
Y’all Hornets fan don’t realize - yet - how lucky you are with Tidjane Salaun… Dude is a beast. Incredible energy. Keep in mind that 2 years ago he was barely playing basketball… His progression curve has been exponential over the last 2 years and he has never stopped since… Last year he was playing garbage minute in the French Pro A at the start of the season. At the end of the season he was carrying his team in the playoffs and in the Euro Cup… This kid’s potential is through the roof… For everybody who knows basketball in France he is by far the biggest potential amongst all the 2024 draftees. Sure he has a lot of areas to improve (especially his ball handling) but the kid is a gym rat, he will never consider something impossible for him to master… He WILL get better over time. And probably way sooner than y’all Americans think. He will get playing time immediately thanks to his defense and his 3 point shooting, that will help his progression. I give him one year, not two. One year before he shuts everybody’s mouth and at the end of next season the Hornets FO will be looked as genius for this pick. Have faith Hornets fans, you made the greatest pick possible.
I'm having an overall pessimistic day, but I wont bring that here. Let's go, Summer league game tonight! The frozen screen looked like Doug was deeply contemplating Walker's thoughts.
Kind of annoys me how ppl are mad at the hornets for taking a guy who can actually be a star compared to a bunch of guys that are most likely gonna flatline as role players. One role player wasn’t gonna make this team so much better that we get into the playoffs.
He could also be a bench guy or bust at first and they need role players in 2 years when ball and miller mature with bridges being who he is and mark becoming something
@@razkable you can find role players in any draft or FA. For a team that’s not gonna get to the playoffs why not take a swing on a potential star in what’s the weakest draft in a decade
Salute to you guys walker and Doug how 🤔 you guys like 👍 the Reggie jack 7 pick up from Denver I like that he on a one year deal tho I think 🤔 he a great veteran leader to come in and help them young guys out miles coming back they going to be good this up and coming season 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
I now am wondering how often we will hear Giannis "development" the entire season waiting to see Tijane on the court.. on top of hoping melo is actually wearing ankle braces.
This is my thing with the Salaun pick. I think, in the East, we have a team that can win. I wanted someone who could play right away, and I don't think that he is it. I don't think he's close to it. In my mind, he would have to be better than Grant Williams to play significant time, and I don't see that happening for at least a couple of years. I'm still excited about the pick, and don't hate it. I just would've preferred someone who played played right away, and I don't think he's anywhere close to that.
You guys forget that tidjane was a starter on a Pro A team. Bilal was averaging 5pts, 3 rbs, 1assists there. Tidjane was averaging 9pts 4 rbs and 1 ast with his stats being more like 12,5points 6 rbs and 1 ast at the end of the season. He might not look good in the SL because he is not a scorer first player however i am sure he will quickly be confortable in his rotation role for CHA. Oh and also we are going to win the southeast division
Not too worried about ns j's shooting right now. As you guys were saying, Coach challenged him defensively, and he is handling the ball more than he likely will in his normal role on the team. I think it's likely that his mind has just been focused on these things, and it's perhaps affected his shooting a little. I think that will be fine as we get into the season. He had a nasty assist the other night under the rim.

@walkermehl stop saying sports aren’t sporting like they used to. It’s such a ridiculous phrase and should be removed immediately. Every time I hear it, it bothers me because it sounds so absurd.
Tidjane is going a very pleasant surprise, I’m calling it now. (Same way I called the pick at 6)

Hot Take: If the Hornets make the playoffs next year then Charles Lee wins COY???
He would certainly be in the running. Really depends on what happens with other teams as well obviously.
As long as we don't get the Heat on the playoffs again
If that happens, I guarantee Kendrick Perkins will vote for someone else.

Absolutely esp if we bypass the play ins
Sending love today for yesterday's "changing the DNA, making the defense CRISPR" line from doug. this man is a pun wizard
Micic is not long for this team. NSJ may be backup 2 guard / 4th guard in rotation by default. Assuming Mann is backup PG and Cody plays the 3

Would have significant playoff experience in him and Grant Williams (and Charles Lee).
We need to get some more of that in the building.

Holy shit the beginning of the third segment was gold. 27:02
This is an example of one of the many reasons I love this podcast haha
The Edwin McCain references were cracking me up hahaha
Only way smith jr gets playing time is if mann or green gets hurt. Its good to have depth

2024 SL champions?! Finally a winning product
Only true sickos know this many edwin mccain lyrics 😅
Bryce was a cap casualty. Hopfully they resign him on a 2 way.
Bryce is terrible and was always on the bubble.
Hot take: hornets make playoffs as a 7 seed and lose to the 2 seed Cavs in a tight 7 game series lamelo stays healthy all year
So is Nanji not joining the team this year?

I think Nick's job this year is to make Mann tradeable for the Hornets next offseason. Doubt he does too much in the big boy lineup this year.
def didnt know that song lol
Hope Mo Gueye is good to go for Vegas, if not I’ll be staring into the void just like Doug
Dalton has not looked good in SL.
Brandon miller looked pretty bad last year as well…..
@@jarod133Miller looked better than Dalton.
@@MrBAD2013 Agreed! But the point is you just can’t put too much stock into summer league performances

Just waited he hasn’t even got on the court yet,
😊
I will b up 2 watch my buzz city play
Nick Jr. needs to be in the G-league for a couple of years, It was a bad draft.
Yeah, Bryce did not play well vs China. Not a chance. Man his shot pisses me off.
Walker liked the Gordon Hayward contact his takes are invalid
Ware looked good for the heat...dk looked bad
