I personally find this track to be the saddest of the game. It doesn't creep me in any way, though. It's just sorrowful. Makes me pity the Fabricated World. It's such a lonely place, after all.
Pilot's Channel! It gives a deep, creeping sense of emptiness, though. As if the world teeters on the edge of reality, abruptly stopping where there is nothing. A cliffside leading into a neverending black space. How... Chilling. How sad. Not even a cold wind blows, as the air itself is fabricated.
xannmax It sounds like such a bitter, cruel, fake world. I think it could be associated with someone who acts 'with a mask' around others while their faith in their true self is dwindling, as if it doesn't exist. They question their worth if all they are is something that no one can ever truly acknowledge or take the time to understand or see clearly. Due to this empty feeling of a fake existence, the person enters a depressive state and stares at the ability to end both their 'true' existence and their 'masked existence'. Only, with this option of suicide, they realize that even killing themselves would be fake. Even after death, people would prize and grieve over the life of the fake persona that they had shown the world. Even after death, even upon suicide, even in the end, they're still trapped in an entity that is and always will be fabricated. What's the point of living or of killing a fabricated life? That's one of the many stories to this song, I feel.
***** I'd like to add my two cents. I don't feel that this is a grief kind of feel. There is certainly sadness, but I don't get the sensation of grief too much. Fear, sadness, emptiness, being alone. Those are what I feel from this music.
To me I think Ib is the most beautiful game ever, the story, the characters, the music.... I don't care if the graphics are not the greatest but the endings make me cry ever time (even the Mary endings) also not to mention, the music is amazing and shows many different emotions to different types of people.... somewhat similar to a painting...
Wow, this is also how I feel about this game, I also love how eerie the game feels even though its not in the natural dark setting that most rpg horrors are.
Mark sarmiento Agreed. In my opinion, eerie games don't have to be dark, it just needs the right type of mood, music, and setting in order to make it seem scarier than it seems to be.
+Piromyśl I think it would be a bad idea however as they would need an ending to stick by. I know mary isnt popular, but i dont want no "canon" shit saying she dies, and no just because you (refering to the people writing how its already canon) prefer that end it is not canon. There is no canon.
On the one hand, this music is soothing and lovely. But after awhile it becomes haunting and frightening if you listen to it long enough. Remind you guys of anyone?
It sounds like some kinda ghost goat just floatin' 'round here. *piano* baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa........ *piano* MAAAAAAAAAAAAA............. *piano* MEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHH................ *piano* meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhh............
This piece is heartbreaking, sad and dark. I love it. Strangely, it resembles a lost love, a person who killed himself because the person he/she loved didn't want to be with him/her. Also, could make a resemblance to Mary's craziness and loneliness, overruning her body and blackening her soul. Though she's only a paint, she has feelings. The feelings of a little girl that never had someone to call out as dad or mom. She's the embodiment of sadness.
I love the tracks from the game, they are just so.. Unique. And the game was just incredibly good, lots of fun to play. I need to go back and play it again.
Being lost is one of my deepest fears. Having Noone to tell you if you're doing well and going the right ways can definitely feel scary when you get lost. This theme just seems to represent that. I feel some hope but mostly sorrow and some sort of apathy after a while. Thinking just about if I do get lost and it's been quite some time, I just would feel no emotion at one point that I would just break completely and that's a scary thing. At that is now one of my newest phobias after thinking all of this...
cute story: one day after I played Ib I went to a friends house then we went to an art gallery I found a rose on the ground I tried to return it to the front desk but they said I could have it, then one of its petals fell off and i fell then there was a power outage and I ran screaming then bumped into a man and we ran out together
This song sends actual chills down my spine. Everything I listen to it, I peer over my shoulder, making sure there's no creepy work of art trying to kill me behind me.
Wow...for the first part of the game, I thought to myself "oh, so generic. Little girl gets trapped in scary place blah blah blah." But then, when I met characters like Garry and eventually Mary and then heard this, I really felt something.
Idk but i just have think of this before, what if Ib was trapped in a "Backroom" long way before the Backroom concept was created? All the Ib stories and concepts including the soundtrack are very similiar to Liminal Space/Backrooms concept

As much as i like PewDiePie, i have to agree. Out of all the games he plays, this isn't one that should be joked around with. I liked how Cry played it. He was serious pretty much where it was needed and joked around only a tiny bit where it was needed. Hell, he even got a little emotional when Garry died and knowing Pewdie, he'd probably get that ending and still wouldn't feel a little sad.
My impression of this game changed drastically from the beginning where I thought it was a cheesy horror-game wannabe to thinking it was an emotional tearjerker by the end
I found this game from Cry. I love Pewdiepie's version too because he was frickin' hysterical, but if you want to see someone play with serious emotion... like tearful, PAINFUL emotion, you GOTTA watch Cry play it! The final vid is the best! I highly recommend that you watch his walkthrough if you haven't seen it already! You'll love Garry like you've never loved him before, I promise! :D
Huh so this is where the song is from! Didn't know it was from Ib. I remember watching Nitro Rad talking about it and hearing this in Classic Sonic Simulator. It sounds kinda depressing, but also a little nostalgic... I was also recently watching a playthrough of Blank Dream and heard this exact song as well.
this song is scary yet beautiful anyone who agrees say I and the person who created this thank you for puting something beautiful you may have not intended this to happen anyways I'm such a big fan of this game and thank you for it(wow I'm making such a big deal over a game)
Honestly, I totally get what you mean. And trust me, I love Pewdie to death. If he could take this seriously, than I will respect him even more. Some games are supposed to be made fun of. Like Ao Oni. Man, that game was PERFECT to be made fun of. But this...is so beautiful...
i honestly feel bad for mary. She just wanted an adventure.Plus,I feel bad because can you imagine how terrible that would be?Guertena was kind of a jerk there, making mary so she was alive, but not able to do anything because she was fake.I can see why mary would go to far reaches to adventure with ib,if she had a terrible life, and maybe she just didnt want gary to interfere with her adventuring.
Well, the way I see it, Garry kinda represents the Hanged Man; the compassionate fool. He would do anything for Ib, even let you as Ib choose to give his rose to Mary in one part of the game. He saw that painting of the Hanged Man in the beginning of the game, at the gallery when everything was normal. Just my thoughts I'm throwing in.
I'm a fan of Pewdiepie. I respect the game and admire its creators for first of, taking the time to make this and then give it to the public for free and second of all, doing a damn good job of it. Only about 2% of the fanbase react how you described. Don't give us unnecessary stereotypes for enjoying different things.
This song makes me think about a person sitting in the dining table with the food on the plate, but the person can't eat the food because of lack of appetite.
I can understand that sentiment now, and a lot of what everyone else is saying about Pewdie joking around about the game. Those people are irritating for me too, and watching Pewdie make jokes and fuck around was annoying. Just letting you know as a member of Pewdie's fanbase (and an avid indie gamer), I enjoyed the game. Can't really do anything about his crazy fans or him, but have to say that I'm glad I found out about it. Thanks for not being a dick about this and replying reasonably :)

This song feels like... You are lost in mysterious place...strange things are happening around you, and you are unsure if you are dreaming or is it reality...is there anyone here?
That's the whole point of this soundtrack ,the gloominess like something tragic has happened , plus now that autumn is here it kinda fits the season , in my opinion. P.S. : Also would fit in Dear Esther , especially in the first act/stage. just saying :)
