Therapy should be about personal development. I saw so so many videos on this channel that aren't about the kid or student. Makes sense now after seeing videos about ABA.
There a difference between tantrums and meltdowns ! I hope therapist are not treating autism kids having a meltdown like kid’s having a tantrum . I looked up ABA videos after hearing a person on the spectrum saying ABA is devastating and give kids with Autism PTSD.
Wow, what about talking to the kid about what makes it difficult waiting for dinner OUTSIDE the heat of the moment? Finding solution WITH the kid? Are you joking me dude? This is laughable! TALK to the kid about what his concerns are around waiting for dinner!! Bring out the adults concerns about WHY it is important to wait for dinner. Find solutions together like a team. Dont treat little humans like this! Please! STOP! This is sad. Tantrums are them communicating they are having a hard time with a situation. Why are you guys punishing kids like this? TALK TO THEM!! find solutions together WITH them. Dont just impose it on them like that. Dont expect the kid to talk about what is making it hard for them to wait for dinner and not have cookie. Invite them for a dialog.
Consequences that reinforce the behavior will increase future frequency of that behavior.
Thank you much Luke.
Thanks for the tips! Very informative

Occupational therapy would be the better option.

This method is way too complicated. Not sustainable. There is other way, thank god.
