Hi, your videos have been so helpful! Could you do a video on meta ethics? :)

also how does Nozick's pleasure machine respond to the claim that 'all pleasures are equal'? isn't it simply a critique of how goodness is defined as pleasure? please could you expand thanks

Nozick critiques the notion that we only value pleasure. If we only valued pleasure then we have to go into the experience machine, if we do not go in then clearly there is more to our decision making than merely the souveign masters.

Towards the end of the video you give a counter to utilitarianism's approach to eating animals. You use Nozick's experience machine to attack the 'all pleasures are equal ' claim. But isn't the experience machine objection used to argue against 'pleasure is the only good'? Grateful if you could clarify

This is a place holder, a more suitable criticism would be the repugnant conclusion or Mill's distinction between higher and lower pleasures.

how do you apply metaethics to an applied ethics 25marker ?? could they ask that in the exam

You don't need to apply meta ethics if you are not sure how to, applying the normative positions will be sufficient.
