    I think the Americans would intervene in the Latin American wars of independence because in our timeline they wanted Louisiana territory from France.

    I would love to see this series with Napoleon Dominates Europe. France and Spain were going through a revolution, and it would be possible for Napoleon to try to do some reforms to fix the problems that the Boburns missed. Napoleon may have been a brilliant strategist and competent war general, but he had excellent administration skills. His political ingenuity helped France from the brink of collapse into a modern country and brought laws and reforms that increased the standard of living. He also improved with Elba Island during his exile through domestic developments and to other countries like Germany and Switzerland. Napoleon should have put people in charge instead of his family members, for most of his family members had different capabilities than Napoleon. He placed people like his marshalls or political advisors with experience in politics to run each continent the French Empire had as provinces, and not mention he should allow people to elect their own representatives that way; most of the people who lived in the French Empire wouldn't have to revolt against the French. Anyway, I can't wait to see more of Project Bourbon. Keep up the great work, and enjoy a Happy Thanksgiving with your family, Mr. LoreDad!

    Wooow it’s such a unique alternate history scenario 🤩
    As a Spaniard I would love to see you deep down on the America consequences because in our history, when the bourbons ascended to the throne that meant that the viceroyalties, that where once considered equal territories of the Spanish realm, passed to be administrated more like a colony way.
    So in this alternate scenario where France just sweeps over and annexes all of Spain probably neither the Spaniards or the Spanish Americans would be happy and probably the Americas would have a war of independence earlier than the United States or even at the same time.
    That would have a kinda Cold War vibe between Europe and America or maybe the French and the English team up _against_ the revolutionaries. Making the USA and the Spanish American get their independence later, probably at this moment of the French Revolution and Napoleon rising.

    I could see France being more hesitant to sell land to the Americans, though at the same time they might also want to sell because y'know they can't really control it. Either way manifest destiny would be interesting as if America declares war on the exile France, the Exiles couldn't do much. Cause if they take away their garrisons they kinda collapse and manpower would be a constant headache.

    I think you have America and the British empire both intervene in Latin America. The British to take Caribbean possession (and due to a weaker imperial hold in parliament perhaps an even earlier freeing of the slaves in the empire) while America will see this as a way to gain Louisiana and Canada.
    I see this as most likely drawing the two Anglo nation much closer to each other then own our timeline as all the loyalist will for the most part still be in the USA with once the USA annex Louisiana and what is nowaday eastern Canada absorbing any loyalist population that had fled from America post independence.

    One thing to keep in mind is the Spanish Colonies were all designed to be dependent on Spain and weren't self-sufficient and self-governing like the US, this being the major Reason why the Spanish colonies are so poor in comparison to the US, because they never had the right institutions for that and all their infrastructure was oriented towards religious conversion and resource extraction. Additionally the colonies were never connected, made to be more dependent on Spain rather than themselves and each other. Because of this, I can see their Empire falling apart, and as this happens, I can see the US invading for a number for reasons. 1, They probably don't want to share a border with such a large empire, let alone one that is a absolute Monarchy, 2, They may see Allies in The Republic of Iberia and France, 3, They may seek to Liberate their Anglic brethen in Canada, and 4, Manifest Destiny, which I don't need to explain. I'd Imagine the Bourbons would hold onto Mexico and Central America at most.
    Though one Major Criticism I have for this timeline is that I don't know if The US would even declare Independence with such a powerful state on their border, it may be more likely they put up with the taxes and other issues because they fear the French more.

    • @LoreDad
      @LoreDad  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for the comment! All of these are good insights and are definitely factoring into the “canon” outcome.
      And that is good feedback regarding the USA’s independence. I probably should have made clear that the French control over New France was pretty limited

    I just want to say, keep in mind that it is very likely that Hungary is ruled by the same King as Bavaria since the crown of Hungary was offered to the previous king at the ending years of the war of spanish succession and he only refused it because it looked like a lost cause, in this universe he would have very likely taken it since Hungarian independence was pretty much guaranteed

    I'd say that if France is at peace for a bit, they'd try to support their colonial empire's independence wars, guerrilas there were quite common, especially in Mexico, I think that Louisiana and New France could easily revolt as well. As Napoleon once said in reference to the Mexican war for independence and one of its leaders, José Maria Morelos y Pavón. "Give me two Morelos and I'll conquer the world."

    They would have more legitimacy than a viceroy, which means that they would be able to keep control of whatever viceroyalty they settle in. But they are very likely to have a weak fleet, so they won't be able to reinforce their loyalists in the territories that go independent, or fight US encroachment. They'll probably be more successful recognizing hard to defend borders than Latin American rulers were, so they'll probably cede some territory to other nations to have easier to defend borders and avoid losing too much territory later on. It would take longer to abolish slavery, so any US settlers in that empire would be less likely to start a rebellion.

    I want to see a Napoleonic sweep where something equivalent to the EU is founded in the 1800s. I also want to see how liberalism and left-wing ideologies develop in a world without the Congress of Vienna, which martyred Napoleonic France and future progressive revolutions as victims of reactionary monarchies. The question of nationalism and its future is something that will either make or break this EU. If Pan-Western European and Pan-Germanic nationalism are properly integrated in the founding myth of this continental Europe, this Europa United will have no significant opponents internationally.
    Speaking of Code Geass references through "Europa United" (Which is actually "Europia" for some reason.), the bourbons may create their own equivalent of the Holy Britannian Empire. Truly, one cannot have greatness in alternate history (The EU) without having a counterweight on progress (The monarchs rebuilding in exile) if this path is taken. Well, it's not like OTL America was particularly liberal either way for a majority of its history.

    Anti royalist sentiment from my understanding was strongest in South America, as a result I believe we would still have independence revolutions break out there but how much of the colonial Empire is actually lost is up in the air. In my personal view the revolutionaries would be able to take as far north as Southern Mexico before being bogged down by issues of logistics, and problems fighting past the Mexican Mountain Ranges.
    The Franco-Spanish Colonial Empire I believe will also probably try and sell several minor to moderate concessions in Canada and the Caribbean to the USA and British in effort to minimize overstretching fighting revolutions like in Haiti, as well as gather important funds for war efforts against the encroachment of South America. Trade concessions might also be made in order to secure loans or other assistance particularly with the relatively Bourbon friendly USA.

  • @Lucas24997
    @Lucas24997 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think that when the monarchy falls in Spain we would see similar revolutions happeing in Latin Ameica, most of them will still pay lip service to the new Spanish republic but they will be the seed from where the new republics will be born, the royal family will flee to Mexico, as it was the richest area of the Empire and its people were really conservative, with the Monarchy there the division between criollos and peninsulares will dissapear as they need the support of the criollos and Spain is now an hostile nation. That and the fact that, like in our timeline happened with the 1812 Cadiz constitution, will make the status of every citizen in the Spanish Empire equal, the war will be a fight between liberalism and the old regime rather than a war between the Spanish elites and the local elites like in our timeline, with the exiled monarchy having both New Spain and Peru as strongholds while the liberal regime, either sister republics to the Spanish one or loyalist to the Madrid goverment will launch rebellions fromNew Grenada and La Plata.
    Also aomething really important is the fate of the fleet, if the European goverment manages to keep it they will reinforce the local rebellions and attempt to conquer New Spain to end the monarchy and reunite the Empire, if that is the case the liberals there will be lean to be loyalist to Spain as the idea of shared identity will take hold, if the fleet goes with the king the liberals in Latin America will be cut out from the mainland, making the ideas of independence grow, as their success will prove that they dont need Spain to protect them as well as create new national identities, something similar to what happened im Argentina when the British invaded.

    I find the seven years war extremely unrealistic. France had no way to defend it, and the lands were underpopulated. The United colonies would not rebel, as they wouldn't have a reason to.
    They can't expand into the west because it's controlled by France. Even if they did France would 100% not support them. Because the entire idea was to expand westward, aka, taking french lands

    • @LoreDad
      @LoreDad  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is good feedback, and thanks for sharing
      It could be that in the full series, I have the outcome of the 7 years war in North America change. However, I figured that because France now had the entirety of Spain and it’s navy it would impact the war so I may not change it.
      I don’t think any European power could have expected the raw power of the United States. They would support them with the idea that they would become a client state. That would quickly be thrown in their face though.
      Thanks for the feedback, hope you have a good day
