Just some friendly advice for Rift and anyone just starting off with painting, please thin down your paints! Its a technique that you will learn to love over time. Ive been painting minis for about 9 years now and it is really worth the hassle. All you have to do is put the amount of paint you need on your pallete, then dip about half or even the tip of your brush into some water and mix it in with the paint you have off to the side. Clean off your brush if you have alot of water still on your brush, as it can cause a tide wave effect when painting and can make the paint even thinner then needed. The reason we thin our paints, is to stop the build up of paint in recesses (clogging details) and so we can build up thin layers at a time which create an overall smooth finish layer. You will also find that thicker layers of paint take longer to dry in built up areas. 2 thin coats are better then 1 thick coat. Check up some beginner tutorials / Warhammer TV / Duncan Rhodes painting academy for some more help! Other then that, great video and welcome to the painters guild ❤ If any painters have any tips, feel free to add :)

He painted three miniatures for me and they are the only thing I kept from the relationship. Also I'm surprised it didn't say in the instructions of the kit to thin the paint.

If you or a loved one has woken up to another ASMR video being posted in the wee hours of the morning, you may be entitled to another couple hours of sleep
You might have forgotten to add water to your paint. The 2 thin coats method is highly recommended for getting a nice smooth coat. You also don't have to be so worried about painting precisely for the base coat. For things like the strap, it wouldn't matter much if it got a bit of beige on it, since you were gonna paint over that anyway. It probably even works better as base undercoat for the brown. But hey, I've been ASMR immune for a while, but this actually gave me tingles.
Really relaxing and interesting video! Loved seeing the new minis and watching you work on the skeleton. It could be fun to have a series where you work on some Warhammer models and come up with some deep backstory about your own unique army, but I understand it's a really big investment. Keep up the great content! Can't wait to see the next model from this box.
First Superman is outing that he is painting miniatures. Now it's Ephemeral Rift pushing his antlers into it. This April is looking great for the hobby!
I just started painting minis a few months ago. I hope you enjoy the hobby as much as I do. It can be very relaxing and meditative. I really enjoy the stories I make up for each individual mini while painting. Would love to see more of these videos, maybe even some 40k in the far future?

hey, this is great to see. i hope you enjoy mini painting! that Reaper kit looks like a great starter set but just be careful (or dont) about falling down the rabbit hole. first, its a wet pallet...then nice brushes...then a painting handle...then more minis...then paints...then MORE minis. you'll know youre near the bottom if you buy an airbrush or start sculpting your own bits out of greenstuff. if you want some good tips on painting, there are a bunch of youtube channels out there, dedicated to mini painting. i'd suggest Goobertown Hobbies or Tabletop Minions. they both have some great tutorial/tip videos. welcome to the craft, uncle E. i look forward to seeing what you come up with

An ASMR video of you showing your process for editing the sound of ASMR videos, in which you go over and replay sections of you doing asmr in the video editor, while speaking in an asmr fashion walking us through what you do. Reaper miniatures and paints are excellent, and I'm glad you're using them! The Bones line is very forgiving, and colors hold well on them. Great work, E.

As a tabletop nerd I can assure you that you would quite like some of the popular tabletop games. Collecting and painting the minis is great and an almost zen-like activity. Try Malifaux, Guild Ball, Blood Bowl, Kings of War, Warhammer 40K, Age Of Sigmar etc. You can also play them with your kid(s)! I think you would quite enjoy those games. Love your videos E! This is a great idea with the "learn to paint sets". When i got into warhammer many years ago it was so confusing to start it up. you needed 500 different materials and there was a million colours. i dont remember there was sets like this 15 years ago. Might be wrong.

Rift, I just thought to say how much you need Citadel Nuln Oil, and Agrax Earthshade. They are incredible. Apply it into the recesses then dry brush over them!
Definetly keep the little guy, one day when you've painted alot more you'll be able to look back on how you got started. don't sweat the paint job, we all deem our own work terrible at first and get better through each model and new approach.
To drybrush do always base color with darker color, on skeleton example u can paint whole skeleton with darkish brown after that drybrush works with bone white. Usually 2 color tone makes nice 3d effect. Armor areas usually is painted first with black and then with silver it give more realistic feel to it. So there is kind of 2 ways to paint to get 3d ish finish. Layering with multiple tones Or Using inks they are used inverted order Lighter color first and top of it darker tone example on skin, first skin color and on it something darker like brown or even black if want to make super contrast. Black ink is good also on silver armors.
