I’ve always loved Just Dance but I’m glad people are showing more indifference to the game conceptualisation tbh. I personally don’t get the adding a story-line or the intense self-referencing. I absolutely love the creativity that comes out in the series but especially with the need to appeal to TikTok via direct appeal with maps like ‘Makeba’ - it irks me. Esp with the subscription model it’s too much of a reach to get people on board/to throw money out. That being said the Wanna Dance With Somebody seated is so iconic.
This might be an unpopular opinion but for me I feel like this year did not resonate with me at all. I always buy the games based on how many songs I know from the catalogue and in the case its mostly new song I have never heard, I buy based on how fun, different and innovative the dances are. Besides Avery map and Tainted Love and the usual extremes, most maps feel repetitive, some more than others and the fact some songs like Aurora's did not get their own coach feels lazy to me. I was waiting for the Season 1 in order to see if I would buy the game but now that we know it's going to be Disney season, while I do agree it's most likely for the little ones, I kinda feel like I'm going to skip this year till we get either a big boom song or 2025. Just buying a game for 2 or 5 songs is not worth it in my opinion which is sad because I haven't felt like this with just dance in a really looong time! Like 2023 was such a big jump and 2024 feels like we're back to the usual.

I honestly don't even pay attention to most of the backgrounds for the songs, it's all about the dances and the designs of the characters for me. Like maps that have way too much going on in the background or are constantly moving the cameras make me nauseous. I still think that the past few games in the series have been the worse in the series. We lost so many features, when we should have them and more by now. I swear Ubisoft does not have enough developers working on these games.

Im probably totally alone on this, but I actually really like the seated dance for Titi Me Pregunto. YES its stupid. YES there was literally no point to put it in the game, but I just find it very fun to do, especially with someone else. I guess you could call this my guilty pleasure lol.

IMO, the story mode has really ruined the songs that are a part of it. they should have a story mode version where they can put all the just dance lore they want, and then a separate one without all of that nonsense.

Im probably totally alone on this, but I actually really like the seated dance for Titi Me Pregunto. YES its stupid. YES there was literally no point to put it in the game, but I just find it very fun to do, especially with someone else. I guess you could call this my guilty pleasure lol.

IMO, the story mode has really ruined the songs that are a part of it. they should have a story mode version where they can put all the just dance lore they want, and then a separate one without all of that nonsense.
