I think the only thing lacking here is the difficulty, Not saying Jake's tricks are easy, they sure as hell aren't, but they aren't as difficult and risky as Takeshi's.
Yeah i was wondering if thats why he got 2nd, id say John Wolfe's E-fan Combo with all those triangles, and that 1-handed palm grind juggle move, edged him out of 1st difficulty wise. Its hard tho cus Jake had some pretty tough stuff in there too, and im pretty sure he beat John in total number of tricks, so thats why i was thinking difficulty too.
That's now how clickers work, even though it's up to 60, but by seeing two decimals, we know it does not work like (click - deduction = --/60). Takeshi's trick not only harder but also clicks way~ more than Jake's..so Takeshi won by a pretty big gap.
Choko The Great He's probably referring to the restart after the drop. Is a drop a major deduction in 5a like it is in 1a? If so, is the point deduction the same?
Michael Pate If you drop the Yoyo and yet still manage to return it to your hand (because the Yoyo still has some spin) a deduction won’t count. Regardless if the Yoyo itself left the stage, if you can still fish it out using the string, the following deductions won’t apply; however, the consequence is that your control score will be below average or low.
Syn Syn Stop/Restarts are -1, Discards are -3, and Detaches/String Cuts are -5. Jake only had one point taken away. If you ask me, he probably lost in the control categ. and a lack of a tech score.
Man loss or not still an incredibly entertaining and fun free style to watch, Hats off to Jake I hope he competes again this year
at 1:46 He did that same trick as the one in 2015 but he completed it. this version looks a lot better, but I really love the music he used from 2015
you can see how pissed he is after he drops it
i shed a few tears when he dropped it
that drop hurt to watch :(
*spoiler
Such a shame one little mess up may have cost him first. I may or may not have shed a tear when that happened lol
Dan Termani
I said goddammit when he dropped it
excuse the pun, but I know a certain company that might want to snag him now. That aside, if he didn't drop it, he probably would have won.
DatMediaGuy well maybe if he hadn't thrown it before the music because of the -5 penalty
this is what happens when you dont use the atlas and you use the cannon.......
Pk_Lo haha
No matter, signature yoyo or not, every player have to deals with the failure of its trick
Man I really wish he would have continued competing. Jake was something special.
He lost a lot of weight
Yea lol
IK HOW WAS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THAT
I think the only thing lacking here is the difficulty, Not saying Jake's tricks are easy, they sure as hell aren't, but they aren't as difficult and risky as Takeshi's.
the main reason he does not do risky tricks is because he has those gloves on, making the string very slippy.

anyone thinks he would've won if he hadn't dropped the yoyo?
No, he still probably would've lost, even without the drop takeshi won by 4 points, he wouldn't have had enough time to gain more points than that
He was robbed. He did more than enough to take 1st.
