Putting this out there again... Bringing Down the House with the Queen, Eugene Levy n Steve Martin. Who briefly plays gangsta, n I developed a soft crush.😂

aw man I would've loved Michael on this one. Achara seems absolutely lovely. jaby and michaels reactions to these films is what made me sub to the channel is all. I'll get over it haha
Loving your Queen Latifah journey! "Last Holiday" is one of her best roles. Her journey from wallflower to warrior is hilarious! Her scenes with LL Cool J are adorable! Of course, LL's trademark lip-licking doesn't hurt! If I thought I was dying, I'd pull out ALL the stops I could afford, whether it's first-class flights, designer clothes, five-star hotels or gourmet meals, but I'd also want to spend time with people I love. Other Queen Latifah suggestions: "Bringing Down the House," "The Bone Collector," "Barbershop 2," "Beauty Shop,""Bessie," "The Secret Life of Bees," "Life Support," "Mad Money," "Hoodlum," "The Perfect Holiday," "Hairspray (2007)" & "Chicago," for which she got a well-deserved Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

@CinePals, I hated Christmas movies, till this one. I got that bad news a long time ago. I beat back what I still have. This movie is what people like me need to see, to feel. We need to know, it's not always as bad as it seems. It isn't always over, because someone said it was. I have lived over a quarter century with a virus that used to kill people, undetectable, because I take my meds. I will live to see the cure. I love love love this movie ❤ This movie forever made me appreciate the ceilings of buildings and hotels, and honestly everything. You never know when it’s your time, so enjoy life while you can. Next I’d recommend ‘Bringing Down the House’ with Queen Latifah, OR ‘Deliver Us from Eva’ with LL Cool J. Some of my favorites from the 2000s. Also, Black churches are actually like that. Half of it is singing. A lot of singing:)
Never seen anybody react to this and this is one of my favorite movies. And it is not because of Queen Latifah, even though I do like her acting and singing. It is because of the chef there are very very few actors and movies that are able to actually nail down a chef part. And this movie and the actor do nail it perfectly.
As someone who grew up in the black church, it is so interesting to see people’s take on what is going on when it is depicted in movies. No shade intended, but It lets me see that most people think they “know” black people, but they really don’t. Same thing with Black Panther 2 during the funeral scene. The world was so confused.
I've lost count of how many times I've rewatched this movie! Such a great message! Too many of us just keep our head down and trudge along in life. Loved everyone in this movie and Gerard Depardieu, what a treat! Also, I always go listen to "The Tracks of my Tears" by Smoky Robinson after I watch this.
This is my favorite holiday movie because it has enough holiday vibes without being to in your face about it and as someone who didn't get to celebrate the holidays this one made me feel included if that makes sense 😅
If both of you haven’t seen it, you guys have to do the Holiday with Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet. It’s been a tradition in the last 10 years we always watch this movie and the holiday back to back. I think you guys will really enjoy that one it’s completely different, but with the title being similar, it’s kind of a tradition for us.❤
