This is how legends should be used. To create a pop in the show and help ratings while allowing the young guys to develop and be the true stars of the show. That's why these to are wrestling gods.
+synthsolutionmusic I don't see it as a big deal that Ric Flair didn't stay Retired after WrestleMania 24, #1 it was forced upon Him & #2 most Wrestler's don't Retire, by Jim Ross's own admission.
Actually, I never liked Ric Flair despite I respect the man for what he did and represent to the wrestling bussiness. On the other hand, Sting is my all time favourite and I enjoy every and single character he has to play. These two guys are legends.
Yeah. When you got the passion for something you can't leave it alone. That's why I don't talk down on athletes who stay around to long because when you love something so much it's hard to step completely away from. And who are we to tell them to step away from their profession
Yeah but notice imo he was like a might mouthed Hercules and when the mullet left it was all downhill then and the shorter his hair got the less entertaining he became.
It's because Ric Flair is more the real him than Richard Fliehr is at this stage. He has been playing the character for so long and so well that he has literally become the character. It's pretty much impossible for him to go back to just being Richard - a normal person. Why would he want to anyway? Ric Flair is his life.
Some fans maybe didn't like the "Joker" Sting but you had to give the man his props He's been able to bring in the babyface blond hair Sting, the quiet brooding "the Crow" sting, and then a mix of both and then crazy unpredictable "Joker" Sting and then again, a mix of both Who else is capable of doing this their whole wrestling career Sting is a very talented guy
"If you beat me--which is next to impossible...".; The last time Ric Flair & Sting fought, it was the last episode of 'WCW Monday Nitro' & Sting won. I remember it like it was yesterday.
March 26, 2001. That night was special...and sad. Vince had been winning the Monday Night Wars for nearly 2 1/2 years at that point. Often, from late 1999 on, Vince had watched WCW tear itself apart from within, due to horrible storylines and whatnot. Fast-Forward to this night...and you STILL see the love and respect that these two have for each other. Even though they were getting ready to face each other in a match soon after this interview, the comraderie was still there! Turns out that, whether they faced one another, or even teamed up together (which was a rarity), Sting looked at Ric Flair as a father figure, and as a true friend. Ric gave Sting major pushes in his career. That's because he knew Sting to be a man that was trustworthy, and a true human being and a great friend!!!

I’m gonna be flat out honest: the only reason I watched TNA in the first place was because of Sting. And his Joker schtick back in 2011 was flat out awesome. After he got let go in 2014, I knew it was only a matter time before TNA (or as it’s being atrociously called Impact Wrestling now) was gonna go to Hell
@@BODLive08 I agree. This is what happen you hire the two parasites that caused one wrestling to go under in the previous decade and leaving your company in charge of a woman who had no business with being involved with wrestling in the first place
@Obsessivefanboy I thought it was stupid when he went joker he was never a original he was cool especially when he switched to crow sting but he was never original
I agree. Although let me just add to that with the following statement. I think it was watchable up until Drew Galloway left. The storyline he had with MVP, and then the one he had with Kurt angle, were actually pretty interesting.
NO MATTER WHAT Sting will always be a respected LEGEND to all TRUE wrestling fans for never selling out to WWE PG bullshit and for working his ass off to help TNA get on the map to this day. thank you sting.
Sting needed the spotlight. He was not a man to diminish this spotlight of ancient warrior to Wwe until it made sense in career sense and even then in situations only beneficial to him. Defeat to Seth Rollins & Triple H were not diminishing factor, they were glorious moments in time. TNA kept him relevant and living legend on the stage and particularly on the main event level. Thus he is to be remembered by future fans of this sports as an legend who never diminished. What a genius career.
As far as Sting's "The Joker" gimmick goes, I said to a friend of mine in a jokingly manner "As far as Sting's new look/gimmick, I, personally think that Sting has watched 'Batman: The Dark Knight', too much!".; Lol. Some fans maybe didn't like it, but, you had to give the man props.; Sting's a very talented guy.; I liked it & I found it to be rather funny, personally...

Sting is one of my top 5 favs of all time. The "joker" gimmick could've, and should've, been as big as the "crow" gimmick. I just think it was mishandled. He was too kooky, too goofy. He needed to be cold, calculating. Yeah be psycho, but not over the top. Almost like a Jake the snake type. Not goin for laughs. The idea of it was great. Sting loosing his mind. The way his face paint was smeared etc. And just imagine a dark, insane Sting vs Taker. Idk, I've just always thought it could've been a 3rd wind for his career. But he's still an all time legend. Truly an icon.
Ric Flair v.s. Sting is like coke or pepsi, always a classic. I don't care if they were 100 years old, I will always be down for a Ric Flair v.s. Sting feud.
Two legends in the ring...both wayyyy past their prime, & yet, both willing to do it one more time for the fans. Some people just can't tell when it's over.
The reason it wasn't over for these guys is because the young talent pool was so shallow. Legends like Flair and Sting were a guaranteed draw at the gate and TV studio

This character variation was freakin hilarious! Sting definitely had fun doing this
